All of the above is obviously truth but the last time he was seen on a race course he looked as good as ever so who's to say he wont do the same in March. I understand what your saying but I'd rather see it with my own eyes before righting him off.

Put it this way ....... If he comes out at christmas and bolts up, what price for the QM ?

Oh I'm not disputing that sir, was just pointing how interesting perspective is.

For example, I support QPR. A couple of years ago people said we were lining up a young, English manager who prioritises youth and plays attacking football. Sounds great until you find out it's Tim Sherwood

Tim Sherwood ......... Altior may be a has been but theres no evidence to say so. I'm just saying at the prices having seen what we have so far, hes a cracking price. Nothing I've seen so far has made me think "hes going to have to be at his absolute best to win this"

How can Altior not be the one to beat ? Hes never been beat over the distance.

Dare I say ........ Forgotten horse

                • It was a nothing race today, with Cash Back looking a real dodgy jumper now.

CPS got a race in though, like the easy to win 3 or 4 runner Grade 2 races we often seen in the UK.

I like him at the top of the market, as it should open up prices for the rest.

You can only think that if either:
                    1. You believe yesterday was heavy ground
                    2. You like to be contrary on purpose

The first few minutes aren't that bad, but she's got him absolutely banged to rights. If you can't run NH horses on soft ground, we've got no sport.

Do you see CPS as the one to beat Saxon or do you think one of the bigger priced runners could turn him over.....well CPS and altior as you can't discount him either.

Horses get taken out of races on a daily basis due to ground conditions. It's a big deal as it's a high profile horse.

I for one lost cash by him by getting withdrawn but I accept it as you have to trust connections to do right by the horse.

It certainly looked worse than soft to my eye.

He was a complete knob this week, defending on the basis of heavy ground was sh/tty sh/t, sh/t.
Not mentioning that the horse could be withdrawn if the ground went too heavy allowed bookies to strip money from punters for four days too.

                            To your eye?
Is that more accurate than the timings? It's gone down as officially "soft"

Betfair Tingle Creek Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race)
                            (Class 1) (4yo+) (1m7f119yds) 1m7?f Soft 12 fences 1 omitted

What you're saying, is that it was correct not to run Altior on "soft" - yet he has won 6 times on "soft" ground, including a QMCC and this very race, a Tingle Creek last year?

I do trust connections to do right by the horse, the RACE HORSE, I expect them to run them.... otherwise they're just pets.

So, you either believe it was Heavy - or you don't think horses should run on soft ground? You genuinely believe it was cruel to run Altior yesterday?

Were the other trainers being cruel?

You've lost me.... I can't take that seriously.

1 - he was on the downturn before he got injured
                              2 - stats wise he's too old
3 - if there's a vowel on the going description he'll be pulled out

                                1. Would an Altior, even on the downturn, have won this years QMCC?
                                2. There have been two 11 year old winners and even a 12 year old winner.
                                3. Re March they will just run him. He's 4/4 at Cheltenham on ground Gd/Soft and Soft, which are most likely.
