What a ridiculous stat. Check out the 12 rides before that. I think it was something like 10 wins from 12!

So 10 wins in 26 rides is an almost 40% strike rate!

Funny isn't it, this time last year BOD was a boat, needed 5 miles, no speed etc (the same conclusions people were drawing about the TBG yesterday), yet a year later he's part of a conversation about the QMCC, which serves as a reminder (IMO of course) that we all get this game wrong sometimes.

Speaking of wrong, I came out in defiant defence of NH yesterday, being able to do what he likes re Altior, but having had time to reflect and read some of the comments on here, I am happy to do a bit of u-turn and say the way it was handled was very poor, to put it mildly. I stand by the 'his horse his decision' point overall, but the manner in which that news broke and how the whole thing played out was pretty poor of him IMO.

        • I think you got it in a nutshell there Charlie. His horse, his decision, but don't put punters away who backed him with their hard earned money based on his very bullish comments that were also part of his paid for blog with his favourite bookie.

And when you pull the horse don't add insult to injury by using the ground as an excuse when the times clearly prove it was soft/good to soft. If Henderson lost a load of money based on bullshit you'd expect he's be pretty pissed about it too, so the fact there is zero remorse just adds fuel to the fire.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Has a horse ever had a more accurate name than waiting patiently

                Pulling the horse is fine

"It's well documented that testing ground isn't what we want, but we haven't got another option so we've got to go and this has always been his target. "That said, it's not like running two-mile-five at Ascot like we did against Cyrname last year. He's beaten Politologue in soft ground at Newbury in the Game Spirit two years ago and he's in good shape, while he's got to have a run."

But saying that and then pulling him a few hours later just makes nicky look ridiculous and isn't fair on ante post punters who couldve cashed out like myself

                  • Blows the cobwebs away, certainly not blown away.

Will improve off that I’ve no doubt though.

Just want to see him fit for March.

He was only ok. Not sure they'll trim him much after that.

                          • Did the job but you could see he desperately needed the run. Should come on a lot from that.

That was straight forward. Quite clear CPS is a class above those horses... which isn't going to shock anyone.

                              • Can't knock that, hesitated at a few but that's nit-picking a bit. Whichever side of the CPS fence you were on before the race, it wouldn't have done anything to change your mind.
