  • I must say, and this isn't just pocket talk, this is a disgrace. You've got a great horse, run it. If you're too scared then retire him or move him elsewhere and just admit it.

For me, his best performance was easily beating Un De Sceaux on really deep ground at Sandown. He cantered all over one of the best 2 milers who had his perfect ground, cementing Altior's place as world class in my eyes (as he proved that he would beat anything in any situation). He followed up at Kempton 3 weeks later and 3 weeks after that at Ascot. If that race didn't "bottom him", there's not a chance that Politilogue will manage it.

He will only get harder to place as no-one will be running scared of him now. May as well enter up against him as the wind might be blowing the wrong direction and he'll be out.

Be interesting to see how the TV covers it tomorrow

On the plus side he now has plenty of time to prepare Altior for the King's Stand.
Have you listen to the Nick Luck podcast? He was gunning for PFN - I think that 'we are the champions' when Cyrname win last season has wrangled him a little!

I reckon chasers go through every going description on a circuit at Sandown, where they get the good to soft from is a mystery, probably on the turn past the stands but they never put that description on the hurdles going when they run on ground 12 feet away, otherwise it is fairly deep everywhere.
I’ve had a car stuck in mud in the middle of the course before and I think the description that day was no worse than good to soft...

Yes, she is the Champion Hurdler but she barely got out of a walk and he was struggling to keep up with her. That's not what you want to see from a Champion 2 mile chaser. He looked more like a 3 mile horse. Not for me at all .
Hahaha, you literally back hundreds (thousands?) of horses ante post and wont entertain Altior at 7/1 despite having backed him 'many times' at long odds on.

Your regressed theory is simply that, a theory. You did the same on the mares chase thread re BDD. Repeated views of suspicion with little substance.

            • I backed her before and ante post for the schloer. Think she is being ignored due to the lack of a sexy profile

I'm not sure it's that outlandish. Altior may win the Champion Chase again but he's almost certainly regressed.

                • That’s a big line through Altior for this for me (if he even makes it there!)

                  • I really want Altior to piss up tomorrow. Not for the it's a 'win for racing' lot because I hate that saying, but he's never got the respect he deserves IMO. An 80% Altior will eat that shower for breakfast tomorrow, and my prediction is come midday tomorrow the professionals will smash 4/5 into 4/7.

                            • A horse that has won on soft ground 6 times including beating horses like UDS , Min . Prolit etc on it but can't run tomorrow when its actually even still Good to Soft in places. Bit ridiculous in a race as prestigious as a Tingle Creek when likely his last chance to win it

Afraid it may bottom him out or take too much out of him ahead of a race in March months away.
