    • Yep, sorry to go on a bit but I needed to get it all down on paper.

      • Looking back at the RP stable tour with Joseph O'Brien on Fakir D'oudairies

He'll probably go to Naas for the Grade 2 Poplar Square Chase next month and then we'll look at stepping him up in trip as the season progresses. I think he'd have won the Arkle had he not galloped through the second-last and he did well to get back as close as he did to Put The Kettle On at the line. He could be a Ryanair horse but he's still only a five-year-old so he's very young. Hopefully there will be a lot more to come.
I wondered if this race declaration at the weekend were a change of thought in regards to his trip, but going on that it may only be a stepping stone onto mid range plus trips still (sorry Ista!) Though I would think if he can put away that field it would have to give them some serious consideration to stay at 2 next time out? Given this weekends race is not far off the entire Irish challenge at that distance, Chacun aside* Notebook will for me be a serious challenge though this weekend.

*PTKO would appear to be targeting the races in England it would seem.

Yes it’s a proper field Jono and they’d have to re-consider a Champion Chase bid if he proves to be quick enough over 2m.
That said the Naas race has cut up and only 3 opponents stand their ground though Notebook and Cash Back are two of them so it will still be a serious test.

I’ve always said the key to FD’s season is down to what they do with Defi and after his poor display last week the chance that JOB goes back to the drawing board increase.
We have to live in hope...

          • Cash back gets 8lb in that race but all 4 of them are front runners

So youd imagine the jockey who manages to restrain his horse and settle in behind the others will win

And potentially by a considerable distance if they burn each other off

A race to watch not bet in

            • Really looking forward to seeing Fakir over 2 miles again. Hoping for a bloody good show so they go down the CC route

              • Notebook has laughed at him there - he's a proper horse but might just be one who'll never fire at Cheltenham.

                • Hasn't quite given the PTKO the form boost I was hoping for

                  • The one positive of a no crowd Cheltenham would be that Notebook will win the QMCC

                    • Notebook matured massively. Got a little bit impatient right before the off but you’d be well happy with how clam he was pre race there. Great round of jumping too bar a mistake down the back & being a bit big over the second. Horse with huge ability happy enough to have given him another chance & got him on side for this now

This would be the only worry for me, as we all know some horses just don’t perform at the course. A hugely talented 2 mile chaser is undeniable, Hope we see him vs chacun at Xmas

                          • bad by Fakir, poor. Step up needed, but struggling to see him be good enough for Ryanair

                            • Delighted to have him in the book! Not sure what to do with my Fakir bet, he really does looks like he needs further although he also looked like he needed the run badly
