I think Fakir will go better over 2 and a half miles, especially over the new course. Appears to jump better when he has a little more time

It's not, just managed to get a bit more on with a boost. They must be hungover.

Yep, agree with this and Opatcho' comments.
Up in class and they let the leader go away a bit down the hill too.
Rhythm can get you along way in a race and DDG was like a metronome. Bit like Politologue in the champion.
She did well to pick him up.

          • Can't have her at any price south of 20/1 at the moment. Might even get the wallet out for Altior if I get a bit shteamed later on.

Thought you were arguing with yourself there ffs. Not just WH staff that need a lie down...

              • As others have said she really ground that won out but to win she looks more stayer that was tough going on that ground and she only just battled her way past at the end. Spring ground I think she'd want further either the Mares Chase or Ryanair. If it comes up soft in March she'd have a real chance though.

                • Really happy to see PTKO win today. A real gutsy performance from the mare. AC fiddled quite a few fences today & slowed her into the last. I might upset a few on here but I'd like to see Rachel on it come March.

                  • I was a bit disappointed with PTKO to be honest.
i dont think struggling to beat DDG is any sort of decent form and she didnt jump great either.
The big 2 may not even make the festival again so she might not have a great field to beat but i think she will need to improve a huge amount if they do.

(P.s. as per my diary i have backed her antepost months back).

                      • Put The Kettle On getting the job done is great, for loads of us I'm sure.

Beating a former Arkle winner, in his favoured ground with a gutsy win sounds good on paper, but in reality that form would be miles below what's needed to trouble Altior or Chacun Pour Soi?

I'm pleased she's won, job done in terms of returns for her now, but I think I'll be looking at getting Altior and Chacun Pour Soi in the book moving forward. I think those to would wallop her.

He improved massively after first run though didn't he. Beating Min easily?

Min then goes on to beat A Plus Tard...

I haven't backed PTKO but I'm sure some of her followers would disagree with some of this.

Are we expecting PTKO to produce a performance first time up in November on that ground that's of QMCC quality? I think its fair to say no.

Whilst CPS is hugely exciting, he's raced 4 times in as many years, had loads of issues and is 9/2 vs 14/1. I'd have the latter every day of the week.

Re Altior, he's going to be 11 next year so its guesswork as to how well he's going to perform, so we don't know how much ground PTKO has to find to be competitive.

I probably agree with you, just putting forward the opposing points

PTKO should improve for this as well. They've been looking for good ground and she's just put in a very gutsy performance on pretty soft stuff. As Aiden said after the race, she's only run once in a year as well. She might prove good enough to beat them, but she will deserve her place.
