  • CPS will be in QM, I have little doubt of that
Whether I think thats the right race for him is another matter, and I'm sure many on here along with connections and trainer may disagree. Oh well lol

    • Queen Mother might be an easier race than the Ryanair this year too. Can't see DFS or APT running and then you're left with an old Altior. Notebook with no crowd would be interesting and I really like Fakir D'oudairies and I hope they run him here. Regardless, if fit and healthy Chacun should be laughing at them all save Altior who'll need a right Sprinter/Moscow day out you'd think.

As general sweeping statements go, I'd say that has never ever been the case and never ever will be?

I completely agree with this statement Kev, but is this year not the one 'freak year' where this may not be true?

Barring 2019 where Min underperformed, Min has battered Politilogue multiple times 20+ lengths over 2m - would Min have had a tougher time of it beating Politilogue over 2m in the QMCC this year than he did in winning the Ryanair? I honestly don't think he would have.

It may have been this season after everyone pulled out or bailed out like Defi.

Maybe not, but Altior and Chacun Pour Soi were pulled out after decs weren't they (or as good as) and a 3rd (DDS) under performed.

It'd be like saying the year Douvan didn't win at 1/4 it would have been easier?

In hindsight it could have been, always, but there won't ever be a stronger Ryanair than QMCC will there without last minute defections?

Maybe there will be one day, but it'll be a sad day for the sport.

Just taking Min out of this years race, Saint Calvados would be the one setting the bar Hardly like he's notches above Politilogue, in fact, he's definitely not achieved as much.

Also, Politilogue does have some form with Min (I obviously know Min's better) but still...

              • Have they formally announced Thursday is ‘Ryanair Day’ yet ?
Staggering the championship race, the Stayers, is upstaged which is no doubt a result of levels of sponsorship...

Was the Stayers ever a championship race?

                  • I've got some great memories of the Ryanair, Albertas Run's 2nd, then Barry's wonder ride on Riverside Theatre. Can't remember if I was on Cue Card and CBA checking ....think I backed Dynaste. Definitely didn't back McCoy's but that was a memorable win for that reason. Vautour was one of the best things ever. Un de Sceaux winning the year after was amazing as well.
Hated Balko des Flos winning. Wasn't happy with Frodon either to be fair but was a memorable day. Min last year was fantastic given the debate on here.

You'd think I'd have warmed to it a bit

                    • You are too young to be a traditionalist. Bring in a long overdue 2 1/2ml open hurdle and mirror what is there in both the novice chase and novice hurdle divisions and argue instead against stupid extra mares races at the Festival

                        • If they bring in an intermediate hurdle at the festival, I imagine I'll be on my way out of love with the sport.

I wouldn't be an advocate for it, if the Ryanair wasn't there

I disagree, just because it's been a 4-day festival since I've been in to it, doesn't mean that is the best it could be? How ignorant of me would it be to assume that just because I've experienced it, it cannot possibly have been better beforehand

3 days is enough, 7 races a day. Easy to trim 7 races to make the remaining 21 loads, loads more competitve.

The top trainers already have ample chances to dodge each other so why give them another.
