Usually with injury prone horses, I would agree with this.

But I think Chacun has been unlucky to be tarred with that brush. He was injured long term in what should have been his Arkle season. But then after that injury he’s been sound asides from one stone bruise that lasted 3 days - he was just incredibly unfortunate that the injury was on the morning of the Champion Chase.

I took the 6/1 with Paddy Power earlier this summer. Quite happy with that.

he impressed me all season only to blow out at Cheltenham. Trainer alludes to him having a hard race prior to Cheltenham which took the gloss off him , certainly have impression trainer thought he was better than his other inmate and Arkle winner Put The kettle On on build up to race and even recent comments.
Form lines with Fakir would have put him on premises at business end in Arkle. And after yesterdays romp by the Arkle third , I re-watched Notebooks runs last season. Boy he can jump , and jump quick .
I am expecting lessons learnt from Henry De Bromhead and him work backwards from March for this horse main target ,being bit more selective on his build up.

Think his price is juicy and I'm prepared to give him another go.
He's the only one I've backed so far and like you, I feel that the yard were bitterly disappointed with him in the Arkle and think he is much better than PTKO. Maybe the race before Cheltenham did affect him or he just doesn't like Cheltenham but I'm willing to give him another chance and maybe no crowds this year will help him be calmer at the start of the race.

Surely the best chance with Notebook is that if there’s no crowd. Because he simply doesn’t take to the noise of Cheltenham. Just watch him in the preliminaries and down at the start this year before the Arkle. He absolutely blew his chance long before he jumped a fence.

        • Old Bell called Rouge Vif 'breathtaking' yesterday and today - I call it a good performance by a ground dependent horse in an ordinary looking handicap. Massive over reaction IMO

          • I like the Notebook angle too and 33-1 would look massive, if he'd have missed the arkle through a stone bruise.
WE'd have had him as the moral winner I reckon.

I'll almost certainly add him once I see some more evidence of how the novices are faring in open company.

            • According to Morning Line, Sholer is the next stop for Rouge Vif where he is likely to meet Kettle.

It's logical, rather than straight to a grade 1.
But he's rated in that division now.
Might see Defi vs PTKO vs Rouge Vif

Galvin final circuit was marginally quicker which puts it into comparison, visually very good is what it was.

Wowsers. That is surprising. Puts both of their runs into perspective

Would be nice to start linking some form lines

I was gonna add him in my vs list but always struggle with the spelling so fucked him off.

actually one of the reasons i don't like the horse

Young Hustler and MoM both another reason for me to back him , have to top up again now as it was only a sporting bet for interest. very valid point about the crowds as he is a bit of a headbanger lol.
