This is of course just my opinion but I’d be willing to bet my place on the forum that she absolutely does not even get considered or mentioned by connections at any point for the Grand Annual. Literally less than zero chance.

        • PWC Champion Chase at Gowran on Saturday over 2M4F (Grade 2) - 4.20pm

This is a race that Sizing Europe won 4 times running, which seems an odd place to start a 2M Championship horse, but it seemed to work for the horse and HdB.

Sizing Europe actually started his Champion Chase winning season aged 8, over 2M7F in October, a few months after winning the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham.

After that, he started each season in the PWC Chase at Gowran over 2M4F, and won the race all four times (before finishing 2nd, 2nd 4th and 7th in the Champion Chase at Cheltenham the following March, aged 10 to 13).

HdB has entered both Paloma Blue and Put The Kettle On for the race on Saturday.

Gordon Elliott has entered Shattered Love, Hardline, The Storyteller and Chosen Mate.

Willie's one entry in Easy Game.

Now that is something to get really excited about. She and Saint Roi are 2 of my biggest AP punts so far this year so it could be a big weekend for me. Really looking forward to seeing how PTKO gets on though. She is very exciting.

A positive there, if you are looking for one, is that Henry De Bromhead targetted this race with Sizing Europe, winning it 4 times. A positive for Put The Kettle On?

I think so, but I've backed her

The negative, is that it's over 2m4f.

Apologies SW, hadn't seen you reference the above already!

Interesting that Shattered Love entered up. She has always taken on the best boys. The only times she has ran v the girls she has won every time. Backed her for the Mares Chase and hoping she goes that route.

I think Archie has highlighted the lack of graded races in the Irish calendar so I wouldn't be concerned about a trip over further than the Queen Mother trip.
Besides they'll crawl for 2 miles...

Yep, perhaps negative was too strong a word, especially as the trainer has previous.

There is also the much over-used "you need to stay further to win at X trip" that could comfort me, if I was worried. Which I'm not

Nice prep for the Tingle Creek I hope

Pity is not a left-handed Graded Chase over 2m4F, so Henry could declare A Plus Tard and win it with him.

But as we know, no-one puts on left-handed Graded 2M4F chases until Cheltenham in March.

Sizing Europe took in this race and the Tingle Creek the year after winning the Champion Chase so we may be disappointed.

He was robbed of a second win when they took out the last fence and Finnians did him up the hill.
