He certainly finished like he would appreciate another 2 furlongs when he won the rsa. Would have to hope his jumping has improved and it will have needed to with a 2 mile prep coming up !
Yep, i would like to see his jumping has improved, find out next week.
But at least hes proved he can win races despite the jumping.
Already backed him for Stayers Kev, seemed the right thing to do
Yes, I like him NRNB for that. Alarm bells were there for it to be possible, he's not said it publically yet however, he's about to run a "Gold Cup" horse over 2m.... it's certainly more likely than they're letting on IMO.
I backed Champ so early on for the Gold Cup, looks one of my worst bets of the week at the moment
Given where we are, maybe the Game Spirit is actually the most viable option for Champ to keep the GC route open.
Its only 7f and 5 fences less than the Denman Chase but if Nico paces Champ and doesn't go full out for the win then will it be regarded as schooling in public?
At least we will get to see if Champ's jumping has improved under guidance from the Hen. If by some miracle Champ wins the GS impressively then I reckon his price will shorten, so could this be a good time to back him NRNB for the GC. If he flops he surely won't then run in the GC.
Worrying 4 weeks ahead as you open racing post/sporting life website with your breath held in anticipation of seeing one of your backed horses missing the race !
