Yep, i would like to see his jumping has improved, find out next week.
But at least hes proved he can win races despite the jumping.

    • I actually think it’s a smart move. Will blow away the cobwebs, he’s under no pressure to actually win, and should sharpen his jumping.

Will presumably come on for the run too without a hard slog.

The year he was 2nd in the Neptune I wanted him to go Supreme! He’s got plenty gas, it’s the fences that are his issue as we saw in the RSA.

It's a race that allows plenty of excuses if beaten, that's fitting.

        • If he jumps round ok and isn't beaten far it will give the bookies an excuse to shorten him up !

Already backed him for Stayers Kev, seemed the right thing to do

Yes, I like him NRNB for that. Alarm bells were there for it to be possible, he's not said it publically yet however, he's about to run a "Gold Cup" horse over 2m.... it's certainly more likely than they're letting on IMO.

I backed Champ so early on for the Gold Cup, looks one of my worst bets of the week at the moment

                    • Given where we are, maybe the Game Spirit is actually the most viable option for Champ to keep the GC route open.

Its only 7f and 5 fences less than the Denman Chase but if Nico paces Champ and doesn't go full out for the win then will it be regarded as schooling in public?

At least we will get to see if Champ's jumping has improved under guidance from the Hen. If by some miracle Champ wins the GS impressively then I reckon his price will shorten, so could this be a good time to back him NRNB for the GC. If he flops he surely won't then run in the GC.

1.01 he pulls him on the day due to leaves on the track.

                          • Delta Work misses the Gold Cup and likely out for the season

                            • It's beginning to have the look of a relatively small field, maybe no more than a dozen.
