  • Must have been a freak result last year then, fair enough.

    • Couldnt see anything from that race being involved in the finish. Santini looks an awful ride now

Couldn't agree more Kev. All his form at Cheltenham has been far superior to any of his other form.

Would really like him for national as well, would have to not go down by a head in a GC again though. I contradict myself

Haha, it's probably a 'clever value loser' to be fair...but genuinely I'd back him at 20/1.

I suppose it's not that different to people who fancy Goshen at his current price.... so I can see why people disagree strongly.

I would like to have Santini onside, I know scooby disagrees with me, and he's a better judge....but every horse has their price and given he was a neck away from being a GC winner, 20/1, for me...would be enough...... here's hoping!

              • He would certainly have to be a good ew price indeed. I don't see him winning, but he's run at cheltenham 5 times and never been out of the places, so if you're getting double figure prices and especially any place offers on the day then it would certainly seem value to me.

I think Santini has ran ok over courses which wouldnt suit. Kempton over fairly quick ground for that time of year, and doesnt appear to act around Sandown
His best runs have come at Cheltenham, RSA and Gold Cup. Not bad CD for a horse who's a 14/1 shot now, could go out further after the Irish result tomorrow

                  Tempted

Which makes his preparation once again poor and that’s 3 seasons running now.
I think Hendo is close to ruining the horse...

                        • Not sure the heavy ground at Sandown today will have done Santini any favours either, in terms of fully recovering in time and to put in the type of peformance required to win.

After that I really would be sceptical that he will have sufficient left in the tank to get up the hill and away from persuers or worse if he has to get past anything.

                          • I thought Native was fantastic yesterday ... if he was to repeat that kind of performance in the GC then he has to be in the mix surely... hoping to see a good performance from minella indo this afternoon and is my fancy to take on ABP

He was brilliant wasn't he. Wasn't expecting that at all ! Like he had gone back in time 3/4 years. Great to see.
