There have been 16 runnings of the Centenary Novices Handicap Chase and to date no winner has gone on to win another race at the Festival.

So........ A Plus Tard who won this in 2019 and Imperial Aura in 2020 will both have this trend to buck if they are to become successful in March.

In my opinion Al Boum Photo probably isn't too concerned about the result of the race today............nor will his trainer be either.

At Cheltenham in the Gold Cup, I suspect that Melon and ABP could easily join forces to repel all boarders. Personally I'm still hoping for the ABP hatrick rather than an ABT hijack.

The race had a ceiling of 145 and unless I’m mistaken it was 140 for a while, so it’s hard to imagine a horse rated in that region improving enough to win a G1 race and of course by winning the race the handicapper puts them up enough to stop them winning another handicap
for a a fair while.

I hated the race anyway, hit the bar every year but never had the winner and that horrific record I will now sadly take to my grave...
