I think the only time we’ll get a drift on Santini is if he were to get beat in the Cotswold Chase. Or at least a price that corresponds with the efforts he has been putting in. And even then it’s hard to see anything drastic.

as for Champ...madness if they go over hurdles with him. I have him backed but with a roll up that means the stake is minimal. So I’m best off leaving the bet stand but I’d seriously consider cashing if that were to happen. There’s 4 or 5 races he can take in before March over fences if they wanted so where this notion comes from beggars belief really. For a horse who needs plenty more work in his jumping, going over hurdles and / or having very few runs is the opposite of what you want to see.

Leopardstown really was perfect for him. He already has 4 chase runs to his name, at 8 years old. No excuses

Yep, the Ascot Chase should even be a consideration imo.
Cue Card used it as a prep for the GC in previous years. Considering Champ only stepped up to 3 miles for the RSA as well. He’s not a plodder.

Just shows there's a host of options out there really. Certainly far more than Henderson lets on. But we've been here before.

Champ not sparkling at home...? What are the chances that the advantage he had being a year older as a novice has been negated and he's not going to hit the top level ever again?

Needless to say, I've gone off him (which is a shame as he's one I've backed)

I suspect some kind of problem schooling over fences. Perhaps a bad fall and either a minor injury or a loss in confidence. There's no reason to be talking about hurdles at all otherwise.
