  • With the likes of Native River, Cyrname (WTF) and Frodon (yeah....WTF) potentially running in this years renewal, they are going to make this a test

Will be looking for something that staysssss allllll day. If the going is soft or worse, find the slowest boat

Oh yeah, how could I forget Bobs Worth.

He had my all-time favourite trend going in to the Gold Cup.......

He had never been beaten if he got his head in front. What a cracking stat

        Not even 3 likely runners

Would it suit Frodon and Cryname to make it a really tough test? I don't think so....perfectly valid their tactics would be to lead as slowly as possible as they've both shown they can win at shorter.

Native River dubious as to whether he'll still be good enough to lead a Gold Cup at a stiff test...perhaps he will, but he'll be 11 .....

I'd say thats a pretty windy bit of evidence that the 2021 Gold Cup will be made a test.

I assume you've backed accordingly then

          • It’s a massive fallacy in racing that a horse who enjoys front running will ALWAYS create a fast paced race. The benefit of front running is being able to determine the fractions to suit your own needs and if you can get away with being left alone at a steady pace then you’re usually in business, and I’d suggest most front runners would prefer this.

Fast paced races tend to be created where there is more than one horse competing to be the front runner (like what often happens in big field handicaps), or where there is a horse whose particular style is to outstay/jump/grind the others (much rarer). The latter takes a unique type of horse, very few of which would attempt it under the demands of a gold cup. Frodon and Cyrname are seen as this type of horse but that’s based on evidence of races that are soooo much different to a gold cup.

Backed what? That there is a guaranteed strong pace based on the 3 horses you said?

Not seen a market for it

You should wear it as a badge of honour.

A point max unless it runs well below average. But dont think they will give much away
