But what were they on about on ITV ?
They were saying things like "I don't think we'll see him ever again" - sure chamberlain said that.
I thought he'd collapsed or something.
Exactly, I thought I’d missed something and cashed my Ryanair bets immediately for 5% loss. As it turned out 365 have pushed him out to 25s. I will very likely go back in at some point and if I get 25s and he ends up winning the Ryanair will owe Chamberlain a couple of shandies for his very odd comments

My only concern is if when push comes to shove and he has to go through the pain barrier again, he may just not fancy it. However, I'm happy to risk that as he owes me nothing after ploughing in at 4s when he drifted in the Charlie Hall. My gut is also telling me that the KG and GC has been the plan for Cyrname this season for a while and you do have to take notice of what trainers say(although I agree there is a lot of bullshit spouted) now and again. I'm finding my gut feelings these days are giving me more of an edge than they used to as I am generally a form man. Also, I was blown away with the way he travelled and jumped without touching a twig in the Charlie Hall and more importantly, the way he was relaxed and didn't pull which bodes well for tackling further. Anyway, after all this I could end up looking like an idiot but that's the beauty of this game in that we all have our own opinions and some will be agreed with and other won't.

I have another one which most will think I'm bananas for as I backed Defi after Saturday's race! 14s TWAR with Hills. I was really impressed with his jumping and am hoping that it was just a matter of fitness and Hobbs' form, very similar to Sporting John, and am willing to give him another chance in the Tingle Creek.

Edit - fyi, just listened to an interview with Harry Cobden in a podcast with Two From Home. Regarding Cyrname's Charlie Hall run, he mentions "he went round in second gear, he wasn't tuned right up, he hadn't been for a gallop, there's improvement to come".
It was just the "easily" part. He might win it, but it won't be 'easy' beating a dual King George winner.

He's the most likely to blow the field apart though potentially, I don't disagree with anything you've said, just it is bananas to claim he'll win it easily - but I know what you mean and fair enough, he might make you look a genius

Defi Du Seuil is 25/1 with 365 to win the Ryanair?!

        • I really like Cyrname and will likely back him in the KG again but I couldn’t see him staying 3m 2f round Cheltenham... particularly in the fact the gold cup will more often than not be run at a true test.

Especially with Frodon being mentioned for the race and perhaps even Native River back for it. If either of those horses run, it will make it a proper test. Can’t see Cyrname being suited to that at all personally.

Balls. I would have absolutelllllllllyyyyyyyyyy walloped that, what a silly over reaction and great price.

I feel like I've dropped a thick edge from 1st slip

25/1 was a clear over reaction, when it could be the trip that's beaten him.

I'd have taken 25/1 straight away, being incredibly confident he got cut as it was an over reaction and then you get a free attempt at him up in trip next time.

Easy decision for somebody who plays ante post like I do. A no brainer it'd have been for me, but I understand your point

He just looks completely gone at the game. Hopefully when they've given him a thorough check over they'll come up with something because if they don't that'll be s bigger worry. He wasn't beaten by the 2 miles or the ground yesterday he just looked like a horse who's had enough. Very strange.

                        This was my plan too

He looked like he was gone at the game on his seasonal debut as a novice over fences, was out to 50/1 for the Marsh, who knew

                          • Eeeek straight back into 16s (for Ryanair as realise this is the Gold Cup thread) too, was hoping they would stop off at 20s on the way. I was actually very much split between Kev’s and Lobos’s views thinking I’d at least get 20s before his next run. No shandies for Chamberlain

Yep, maybe he's just one of those that downs tools when he wishes. That's two really desperate ones in a row now though. If they don't find anything wrong he'll probably be given one more chance maybe.
