Nicky said he'll be keen first time up, he's a horse with stamina, which is why they tried making the running with him today. He's not slow though, so I don't see how you can use him to try and justify your point.

I do agree that some horses are probably just that good that they can likely win (even though Champ didn't win) at a various number of trips, but it's far from conclusive for most. I do think Champ is particularly good though.

Other than the last jumping was up to the task and pace of 2m. A better jump at the last who may have won.

Considering he's a bad jumper, I was really impressed with Champs jumping and have topped up with Ladbrokes at 7s.

Good run and all that backers could have hoped for overall.

But they've spent a considerable amount of time trying to get him to settle, then allow him to go off at a strong gallop in his first run for nearly a year in a 2m chase. Its surely going to be very hard to switch him off in the Gold Cup after that run.

First post so please be gentle....thought it was a great trial whatever Nicky's reasons and I may be talking through my pocket but jumped well enough at a speed he will not be at in the GC..happy with the early price and as Kevloaf says maybe a bit tight now but hat in the ring.
