Thanks to Eggs I was on the 25/1 for RP to win the Peter Marsh and any race at Festival. I’ve still not seen yesterday’s race so setting myself up for a fall with this post so please forgive my ignorance but did RP really beat much yesterday? Some experienced handicappers but he’s not won a King George or Saviles Chase. Surely if they thought he was Gold Cup standard they would have pitched him in the King George instead of the race he did win at Kempton. He’s progressive and has a chance if he stays fit but he’s another horse whose not raced at Cheltenham before so could come completely unstuck in a tactical Gold Cup.

Basically TKP, he pissed up on the snaff and it was effortless, but he's beat trees whilst doing it. Very hard to weigh up when the top 16 in the GC betting would have all probably done the same.

“You’d have to be delighted with what he did at Haydock and the style he did it, but I do think it’s very important to put it into the context of what he beat on the day. The second-favourite was a non-runner, the third-favourite unseated before the business end of the race. The horse that finished second was well beaten in the veterans’ race earlier in the month. So let’s not get carried away.”
You get similar vibes from venetia to the vibes kim Bailey gives about imperial aura
They don't seem to quite understand the hype building around their horses

Isn't the whole point, the performance surprised everyone?
He was fav, but won on the bridle...hence it now being discussed....
The notion they would know or "truly" thought he was a Gold Cup horse beforehand is just flawed.
Plus, an actual better point.....- The stable jockey went to ride an 11/1 shot in a Grade 1 at another track.

I'm happy to be proved wrong but I just dont see it
I was just putting forward my opinion that your logic about the jockey not riding him isn't a factor.
You're not on, you don't like him... fair enough.... the form is easy enough to knock him with, your other point wasn't
