Allaho - they specifically said that they were disappointed with the run and made no mention of not staying. If he goes well the next time I'd slightly favour this as the target.
Tornado Flyer - they were very pleased with how he stayed on but doesn't have an entry here.
Melon - they still think he'll stay but if ABP shows to be as good as ever I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for the Ryanair.
Kemboy - a horse that finishes 5th in a Neptune and 4th in a JLT doesn't hate Cheltenham. However, there are grounds for thinking that the track configuration and positioning of the fences doesn't allow him to get in to the same rhythm as he managed at Leopardstown, Aintree and Punchestown. There is a constituency that thinks he would have a chance in the Stayers Hurdle.
Who's the spokesperson for this constituency ?

We'll have to wait until entries next week but a Mr WM of Muine Bheag has mused along those lines. Fair to say that some agree and some don't.

        • Cheverly Park this morning in the RP article mentioned the Ryanair for Allaho
Given they way he has stayed in the RSA and Savills surely he must go for the Ryanair , very hard to see him staying the GC trip.

Minella Indo remains second favourite for the Cheltenham Gold Cup, priced between 7-1 and 10-1, despite his uncharacteristic fall over Christmas and De Bromhead wants to get in more practice at Leopardstown.

The yard's Savills Chase winner A Plus Tard is almost certain to go straight to Cheltenham, but last year's Gold Cup fourth Monalee is out for the season.

De Bromhead said: "Minella Indo is very good and seems none the worse for his spill over Christmas. I was as shocked as anyone to see him fall and it just goes to show you it can happen to the best of jumpers.

"There's the option of going to the Red Mills Chase with him and we looked at that, but I'd say the Irish Gold Cup is where we're going with him.

"We haven't confirmed anything for definite yet, and I will speak to his owners in the next couple of days, but it looks like A Plus Tard will head straight to Cheltenham. He's been great since the Savills. There's not a bother on him."

              • Pricelies has selected these in his Racing Post column

                A Plus Tard

                Saint Calvados

The latter goes to the Cotswold chase his trainer says in which he could meet Native River and Santini.

I must be missing something, I have never seen this horses career over 3m+, he didn’t appear an obvious stayer in the King George and that Cotswold Chase can be a brutal test if ground comes up deep.
A very good horse but I’m not seeing the staying argument...

Has to, it is a very brave/stupid trainer that sends a second season chaser into a championship race on the back of ‘F’ or ‘U’, hard to know where his confidence is until he gets back on the course...

Its also good for punters as he fell so early it told us nothing about how good he is

Absolutely, and that was reflected in his Gold Cup price which barely moved, a tired fall two out when well beaten would be a very different story...

                          • For me, if there is a danger to ABP then it is Minella Indo.
