How did he do in the RSA? He wasn't winning that...
With all tha tin his favour, he had a NECK over Santini... can you not understand how dismissing Santini is a bit premature?
You even conceed GROUND could make the difference, so why be so bullish? If it's 'worse' than good-to-soft, you must admit it MIGHT play to Santini's strengths?
No-one (probably literally no-one) thinks ABP shouldn't be fav, and isn't the one to beat...... what most people can appreciate though, is Santini is clearly a serious rival, based on a NECK defeat.
I feel like every time I have to post to you i's something so basic that it shouldn't even need explaining!
I did mention the other week.
He is your taxi driver.
And the earth is flat.
Get out of the car and walk home.

Beaten a neck and then dismiss him as not even good enough to run in the race and should go for the GN, despite even admiting the GROUND could mean he'd win it earlier on?
What if they aim him for the national and it fucking rained in March?
Imagine that? Rain?!
If you owned him, you'd dismiss the Gold Cup, but have also said if the conditions were right you'd think he could win.... so literally by your own definition, you shouldn't dismiss it?

I was really impressed by Cyrname and have now backed him for the Gold Cup. He is such a good jumper and now relaxes and just travels in his races that I hope the Gold Cup trip will be ok for him. We don't know how much he had left at the line on Saturday but he won with so much ease and looked to have just cantered around. At 16s, I'm happy to get him on board as I think he will win the King George too.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it but the RSA has received a really good boost over the weekend. If it needed any.
The first 3 as we all know finished miles clear of the remainder, and IMO Champ won cos the front 2 just got racing a bit too soon. This burned off the others in the race but to Champs credit he hung on to them and then took advantage when they started walking up the run in.
Anyhow.
Aye Right has ran 2 really good races since he's returned into open company, and Battleoverdoyen won well himself in a hot enough race at the weekend.
I think most knew or thought the front 3 in that race were likely very useful and would make an impression in open company.
But it's starting to stack up ok.

I better go back and check what I am on record saying about all 4 of the novice chases - just to see if how i feel now has changed. I doubt it, but I'll check
