I want to get him onside but very skinny at the moment, I need a few more pts added to get me involved this far out. 20 too much to ask for? Probably is!

...18-1 Hills (without boost), if you think it’ll win today & Gold Cup. Perhaps still skinny given 14-1 to win the GC alone.

Many won't mind him beat or to struggle to win very much like Santini on reappearance last season as it will have no bearing on his showing come March, he could easily become 16(18s boosted) if beat, whilst the 18/1 for both makes little appeal given a win or loss today has no bearing come March.

Unfortunately don't have Hills and not convinced he will win today anyway! I might stick a free bet on him now and play it again closer to the time.

I still think Delta Work is a good option at 25s!

          • Think I’ll hold off my free bets today until MI runs, hope for a little drift and then back him.

Looking to get all the main players covered for the Gold Cup, fits in nicely that’s he running today when free bets are issued.

            • For anybody wanting Minella Indo backed for this but hoping he gets pushed out today, is it worth considering Milan Native today + Minella Indo Gold Cup double? 36/1 with 365. Not something I'll be doing myself but just throwing the idea out there.

Very, very good shout for Minella fans.

                • Why not back a horse yo win today, and then with the winnings back it for Cheltenham.

Even the example of 22/1 Galvin wasn't as big as backing him at 5/2, 9/4, 2/1 to win on Friday, and then backing him at the 8/1 and 7/1 available on Friday post race.

On the face of it it does. But if you think Minella loses today surely it’s better to bet on Milan Native, potentially bank some profit and wait for the drift on the Gold Cup market?

Minella is the only horse I’ve backed for the Gold Cup at this stage and, whilst I completely accept he’ll come on for the run, I wouldn’t want him too far behind!

I fancy it come March I just wouldn't back it or against it either today. I think it can win today but Milan Native is no mug and with a run already will be a tough one to crack. Just like to see it get round sound, decent jumping and stretch the legs.

                      • Unless it's a disaster, I think that the bookies will take the same approach as with Tiger Roll ie. cut if he wins and do nothing if he loses.

Because there were doubts whether Galvin would be trying to win and doubts also that MI will be fit enough today.

Yep, lots of ways to skin a cat. Take your pick. MI may well be forward enough to win today or Something could happen to MN. It's a tricky little race to predict for sure.

There is that, but I didnt believe that would be the case, for a second, as Handicapping isnt involved.

Nowt to do with handicapping. Just everything to do with getting round in first 4. Obviously turned out he won it but qualifying first and foremost would have been the number 1 target, not winning.
