Did anyone think either of those were ever heading to the King George ?
Both need an extreme test of stamina and Kempton won’t provide that...

I’m keeping an eye on Angels Breath for King George if he comes back fit and well.

Was hoping for a mention in stable tour but nothing yet.

Be a massive step up for him but a possible dart for Henderson if Santini and Champ are not Kempton bound.

          Can you imagine the scenes.
I always remember Moscow Flyer’s second Queen Mother and of course Sprinter Sacre’s more recently but if Mullins can get Faugheen over here to win another G1 it would surely top the lot...

          • The Cheltenham Gold Cup is a potential “dream” target for Faugheen, with the remarkable veteran all set to return for another campaign.

            • Imagine Faugheen even being placed in a Gold Cup and there being no crowd to greet him back in

              • I read that as "Jamie Codd" and spat my Sprite out in dismay.

                Then I read it again.

I will definitely back Faugheen for the Gold Cup on the day if he runs.

                • Hendo's Unibet stable tour confirms champ did have a week at Henrietta Knights and has had a wind op over summer

Hendo "we can reasonably expect quite a bit of improvement from him this year"

Encouraging. Even if he is the eternal optimist!

I wonder if they favour him over Santini in their GC ranking.

They’ve always been very sweet On Santini.
At this stage every top yard his happy with multiple darts for the big races, as we get close to raceweek things start to unravel...

Santini does look the more relentless galloper of the two though I do think he is ground dependant (genuine Soft) in order to win a GC.

And/or a genuine strong pace to run at.

I can't dismiss Santini at all. It's just his price is not big enough to go crazy over at this stage.

                          • You'd have to think pace is quite important to a few this time round. Therefore I can't imagine it'll be the farce it was last season. Too many trainers have a vested interest in making it a proper test. Only Mullins and Tizzard will want a repeat.

What I can't figure out though is who might commit to towing them along at a proper pace. I wonder if Hendo might let Santini go and try and make all, with Champ to benefit if it doesn't come off.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

                            • Would a strong pace suit both Santini and Champ?

Hendo is probably quite happy if they go 'too quick'

Has he got a pacemaker? What's Might Bite up to

Al Boum won't care how it's run. He won off a slow pace this year and a quick one the year before. He's a horse in a million and the one to beat. Still can't believe he's 6/1. Win his prep at Tramore again and he goes 5/2. If Mullins was told he could have just one winner , he would be it. He is desperate to win it for a 3rd time with him.
