the ability is definitely there, its just whether he can put it all together at this track and over this trip
Thats great news for me as l was struggling to make a strong case for any of them other than Native River if the ground was soft. Cant have ABP as a thrice winning GC horse, Champ jumps too erratically and can pick wholes in the others. RP on the other hand will get my cash on the day. Thought he was mightily impressive LTO and l said then that was the GC winner and now its confirmed he's going there. 8/1, huge price.
I think the trainer has done his best to make him
look regressive, why he ever went near a King George is beyond me, strong pace guaranteed and will bring his stamina into play, is a solid player and one for a proper 3/4 place bet for me....
The problem with Santini I feel is he needs to be kept on the game the whole race. Needs booted into fences etc.
Riding is very difficult but I can’t imagine how exhausting horses like him would make your job
I know Aiden Coleman has ridden him once and I think he knew straight away. He wasn’t doing the booting into fences and his run was very poor imo. Hopefully he’s learned from that to have any chance.
