"Topping up" (hate that phrase) on Epatante, after Abacabras gets beaten - they aren't particularly related are they?
She's still 4/1 and we're in October.... I know he was second in the market, but it's not a 117% market by any stretch.
I'm not saying she won't value at 4/1 on the day or anything like that, but that is still a risky bet IMO? Or not one that screams value at me anyway.
She's probably a bit more likely to win it than she was, but not enough to start wheelbarrowing cash around?

Same with Goshen's price. Epatante is an alright price, but she's the shortest price to regain her crown of any of the other Championship race winners, so not exactly outstanding value either.

It's probably worth looking at Abacadabra's back form.
2 very promising runs over the course are a positive. Although he still got beat both times.
The rest of his form as a bumper performer and novice hurdler is ropey as fuck.
In relation to = He doesn't slap you in the face as a Champion hurdler in waiting.
The course form and way he travels is the only encouragement I can see.
They should run in the Morgiana and find out a bit more, but they'll probably duck it now.

Can't find any positive from Aba and the supreme has a few question marks over it now.

Had it in my notes from last year to not worry about getting the early shorties onside. Was fortunate with a couple of roll-ups on Aba (obviously didn't listen to my own advice) and a few others, but do think it pays to just sit back and watch these favourites early in the season. Always a decent chance they're beaten, like Klassical Dream & Chacun Pour Soi last year.

KD won races. Aba has got his rating by losing.
He has lost all of his biggest challenges to date, travelling well and not finding (Harchibald Mark 2?)
I am sure that he can win an open Grade 1, he has a lot of ability.......BUT in a proper big Grade 1 race like the Champion Hurdle, I have never been sure, and today was an early season example of travelling well and finding little.
Well done to Henry for turning up with a couple, and taking home the prize, and not making it a “learn-nothing walkover” for the fav.Last edited by Saxon Warrior; 30 October 2020, 03:39 PM."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

I backed AT for the Triumph in March and thought he did well to finish 2nd when hurdling badly. I backed him last night @ 7/2 and topped up this morning @ 5/1. Noted first in todays racing in NH racing section. Bit of aftertiming but on @ 50/1 for CH. Apart from 1 hurdle he jumped well today
