  • Maybe they had a good idea he'd be out for the season, when they discovered the initial problem but were awaiting the results of a test or some form of treatment, before they could be certain.
    Just normal stuff like that.

It's not like he's died a month ago and they've been propping his rotting body up in his stable to cover it up is it ?

Ante post betting is a frustrating game, but they are well within their rights to hold out on information on a horse until they know for sure that he/she is out for the season, and until all connections have been informed. They pay the bills after all.

You pay your money and take your chance with AP betting. This isn't the first time and it sure as hell won't be the last either.

Unfortunately you need to get over it pretty quickly.

Best thing to do if you're worried about 'corrupt' trainers is to not back any of their horses, then you'll have absolutely no issues with them.
      Well said COD.

This issue comes up every year, and the same names on here give off.....

There you go. Over 3 weeks ago. Make it public, let all the bookies know so that they can remove him from betting. They can then refund any bets placed and accepted after sept 19th. Job done. It's not hard. Why should punters just accept it? Answer is they shouldn't and anyone that does has money to throw away. People in this country are far to lazy and forgiving

And how many part owners are there in the Aramon Syndicate? One out of a number of people who have a hair in Aramon says something and you expect the bookmakers to take note? Absolutely no chance!

Agree with you both here. This is part and parcel of antepost betting. We are old enough and ugly enough to know what we are getting ourselves into! It was already down in my book as a loss. We move on and look for the next value bet.

But they should though, that's the issue. If it was known at that time his season was over then it should have properly been made public, simple as and bookies should be taking action. You are just accepting like the rest of us that bookies won't take any notice. No reason why they shouldn't and no reason we should all accept that they shouldn't....................but we will and we will keep being taken for a ride and you and I will merrily keep passing over our money to keep these guys in business.

The only thing I accept is that I am responsible for my money, and if I do my dough in the AP game then I am the one responsible, that includes if I hang on to any word said by trainer, trainers son, owner, or someone on here.

We hear what we want to, we spend our money, and we take the risk.

P.S. I doubt he would have even placed in it anyway, but that's just my opinion.

But what constitutes a formal notification of withdrawal ?
Twitter and the likes are full of attention seeking clowns, anyone can claim to be a syndicate owner and give out false information, this is why horses that have been entered in (most) races remain quoted until the next declaration stage, obviously at this early stage of the season there have been no entries or dec stages so bookmakers are largely clueless...

I think im more guilty of moaning than most about this particular outfit, Saldier last year particularly got my back up. I wont mention again about them, Ive certainly learnt my lesson last year and the Patrick talking him up for a champion hurdle campaign when there was strong word he was out for the season didnt surprise me and its just he way they do things. Other trainers treat punters with a little more respect, they have a different way of doing things, as mentioned by others nothing to see hear, dont waste time on this lets find the next value bet. (FWIW I hadnt backed the horse).

We are going to have a crack at the Champion Hurdle with him and see if we are good enough. He is a Grade 2 winner last year and he is in and is very well. He is going to run in the Elite Hurdle at Wincanton the first weekend in November.

I'm gonna request a price with 365 for a laugh. 100/1 and we both back him, yea?
