Was just looking at this myself. Will be interesting to see a proper analysis, but it doesn’t speak greatly about the performance does it?

    • Not about Goshen directly but does anyone else worry about the number of times Jamie Moore turns round to see where they are behind him. I would prefer it if he spent Moore time looking where he is going, either that or have wing mirrors fitted.

Winning a 2 mile graded hurdle race by 22 lengths, on the bridle, doesn't happen very often. I'm really interested to see the analysis because the visuals were superb.

I hope he looks round twice as often in the champion

You're right though - not sure why he felt the need to continually look behind him.

Because he didnt in the triumph and thought the others were closer than they were

He's absolutely stuffed a couple of decent horses and did it easily.

For those that don't have him covered, are you worried?
He's rightfully 3rd best in the market so he clearly has a chance but he will need to be very special to beat both mares. He might just be that though. I said I wouldn't back Goshen all last year and backed him on the day. Odds on I do that again

I imagine you'll be celebrating tonight as well. It's been a long time coming

Clearly to give him as easy a race as possible this close to the Churdle.

                    • His task is still huge, to win a G1 at the first time of asking giving two mares weight who it’s fair to speculate one will run to a 160 means he could have to nudge a 168+. That applies to any Gedling of course but it certainly is a very big ask, great to see him add spice to the division albeit 5/1 wouldn’t interest me one bit.

*sectionals to be added later* as referring to RP offers little.

Yeah need to see the ‘proper’ times but the overall times from RP don’t make it look anything great compared to the novice hurdles - if goshen had beaten longshanks ~20 lengths, People obviously wouldn’t have been as impressed as they are. I mean, he wasn’t hard ridden to win, so that’s not really a fair comment, and any analysis may prove to be of little use as there’s no way of knowing how much he had left at the finish.

5/1 don’t interest me either, but the again he’s been available at far bigger for some time now

                          • I think it’s time for a vote Kev?? Honeysuckle and Goshen have come off the bench to really shake this race up. If you have one bet who will it be on to win this year’s Champion Hurdle??

                            • Problem is for some it seems.......Goshen was judged on his last run rather than what they knew he could do and had done.
Now we have these type of conversations we are having now, but it’s great cos the race has taken on a whole new position and will probably carry on till the week.....love it!!

                              • We should get Kevs wheel of misfortune back out to decide races like this and the Supreme. Or maybe find out what that Octopus is up to that they always get to predict World Cup matches.
