  • I think it’s a case of everybody stay calm!! Let the dust settle and sleep on it.. still a tall order giving 7lbs to the girls and not sure song for someone was the most popular of bets really

    • Hope they give him some room, claustrophobia is a terrible condition

      • It would be such a good redemption story if goshen did win

sort of thing youd remember for a long time

Gonna have to scour through my ante post multiples from last March

Swear I had a treble on shiskin, goshen and envoi

Seem to remember I may have binned it though

          Agree with you there MMB.

Funny ride from Song for Someone as well.

For a horse who stays well riding it off the pace on a tight track like Wincanton was never going to suit.

Goshen had to win well today but quotes of 5/1 are laughable.

Still there is good from all of this.... Goshen's performance today will hold Honeysuckles and Epatante's price up. There could be some value in coupling them NRNB as both are miles clear of Goshen. If one gets injured you get your money back on the NR and if not you have 2 of the best horses getting weight from Goshen and the others. Certainly something I am mulling over.

Was he ridden off the pace on purpose?

Id have to rewatch but looked like he was simply taken off his feet early on by the gallop they went

What I would say is: when Goshen has been on his A game he has yet to be challenged by any horse. The dream is alive. I suspect he’ll find one too good but it would be one hell of a redemption, the kind of story that is great for the sport.

                • People are saying that Song For Someone didn't runs his race, but what about Navajo Pass?

He's absolutely stuffed a couple of decent horses and did it easily.

For those that don't have him covered, are you worried?

Yep, I should have done the special but thought it wasn't value as couldn't see his price going below 10-1.
But he won it in the style of his triumph run.
And they seemed to go a good gallop which he maintained.
Not sure they'll give him too much rope or an easy lead at Cheltenham, but if they do then he could pull it off.

                        No! Not even mildly.

                        • I thought that was very impressive by Goshen, I thought the ground wouldn’t suit him and he’d scramble a place behind SFS. I don’t think SFS ran to his best though, he looked laboured for most of the last half a mile. Does anyone know the race times of the race? Was the time as impressive as the margin of victory?? I think 6/1 for Goshen is an over reaction, I think 10/1 would be fair given it’s his only good performance since last March. He has to back it up now I’m 24 days, not a lot of time but today’s race didn’t look like it took too much out of him.

I’ve since found two moves doubles with Goshen with Shiskin & Envoi so happy to see those bets back out of the Morgue and bouncing around in my fuzzy mind

                          • They way i see it, the horse could
genuinely be a freak, its a tall order to give weight to those mares but he smashed that field to bits today and that was a field to measure other good horses earlier on, from alot of people...now hes smashed them all, its, oh what has he beaten? Come on you know what hes beat today that was a good performance and well see what happens now, i dont think hell do it but it opens the race up massively!

It's going to be a great build up to the CH. Not long ago Epatante looked a shoe in, now she looks anything but.

I'm interested to see what the clock says about his performance. It looked brilliant to me so I'm hoping the time backs it up.

Miles clear?? Silver Streak beats Epatante, SFS beats SS, Goshen smashes SFS.
I know it ain’t no exact science, but that don’t scream miles clear to me.
for those that are pissed off cos they thought his last run was as good as he is, you could have got 40 for today and Cheltenham.
