Happy he won to help the field and maintain a bit of a price for others
    Receiving 6lb,won by a distance.
Main thing for me is hes put his last race to bed, and proved hes a contender now.

    • As low as 4/1, jesus that is super short on what hes actually achieved today.

But you're right, I so have him at some horrendous prices in multiples.

Plenty of rubbish has been written about him and the trainer so I'm glad he's bounced back somewhat.

Still couldn't really fancy him for the CH but at least he's a live one.
Get that video montage out again from before his last run

He'll set it up nicely for Abacadabras

Epatante was a good winner of last year's race but it's difficult to explain away the defeat by Silver Streak in the Christmas Hurdle. These Champion Hurdle trials can be muddling affairs rather like classic trials. Also Silver Streak did get first run unlike in the 2019 Christmas Hurdle but it was still a disappointing run compared to the 2019 Christmas Hurdle win by Epatante.

Concertista was most impressive in winning a weaker mares hurdle at last year's Festival and has done nothing wrong since in 2 runs

Song for Someone is on a winning streak but only just got home in an ordinary Unibet (Bula) Hurdle over CD. Could be an improver.

French form is usuallly undervalued so James du Berlais may represent good value

Short list: Honeysuckle, Concertista, Song for Someone, James du Berlais
Big doubt about Song for Someone now - lacklustre from the start.
Wincanton favours Goshen but he was doing ok in the Triumph last year wasn't he.
It'll be interesting to see how his price fares now

          • ....40-1 Goshen ‘win today & CH’ was the way to go but unfortunately not for me.

            • Is anyone tempted at 6/1 (NRNB) Boyle?

Absolutely not. These prices (even if thats the biggest) is a massive overreaction imo.

Place lay him on the day

                  • At least the Champion Hurdle looks more of a race now. Goshen did that really impressively. Can he repeat it giving weight to the Girls.....I doubt it ,but he's a worthy 3rd fav.

He does add a fascinating element to the race and changes the it completely.

                      I can't wait

I'm glad I've built a book for it, can just enjoy it and hope for something special!

                        • Such a hard race to assess. Was Goshen incredible, the field poor, the weight a huge factor or not ... really not sure.

Certainly makes it the most anticipated CH, for me at least, for sometime.

I make that 4 potential front runners now ... could set it up for a Sharjah or Epatante. Exciting

                          • Great performance but it’s been a while since the race has been a relevant Champion Hurdle trial, though the relative dominance of the Irish obviously affects that record...

                            • Think people are holding on to his one bad run over hurdles and taking a view on him for that reason and that only. Forget his issue and what you got? A horse that was about to destroy Aspire Tower and co. It probably would have been the highest rated performance out of all the novice and juvenile hurdlers including Shishkin.

He'll come on plenty for that run and if they get him there in good health he goes close.
