No Concertista, no surprise.
I'd have Honeysuckle Evens for that, especially as he's said Aspire Tower don't run.
And my 500th post goes to you Q! I hope you appreciate it!
I fancy Saldier to cause an upset. Will probably be a big price here after his last run. The yard seem happy with his last run as they knew he needed it badly.
I just can’t have Honeysuckle against proven 2milers. She jumps too slow and doesn’t have the turn of foot they do. Definitely more effective over 2 1/2 IMO.

Gutted about Concertista, i really thought she could run a big race in the CH, but agree its no surprise.
I am glad that AT is not running at Leop though, want him nice and fresh for March.

...Saldier is 10-1 for ICH, 80-1 to win ICH/CH with Hills.
Following the Matheson Willie said Sharjah would come back for the ICH but he didn't mention Saint Roi or Saldier. Beacon Edge has only recently come back from colic. Aba was clearly not well last time so he must be doubtful. It could be a very small field indeed.

Preach it TOTG!!
I was a fool to back him in the Matheson. He'd been off for 400+ days and I ignored all the previews where they basically said he wont win, and he didn't. He just got tired. He's jumped the second last bang there, then turning in the petrol gauge hits 0 and he falls away like a tired horse.
In a very open race with lots of non-runners ahead of him in the market, he's my idea of the best EW value bet @ 25/1 (Hills) by some distance.
It's his wellbeing that's been his achilles heal over the years because when he's raced he's done bloody well. He jumps like a proper champion hurdler, wastes no time in the air and is low, slick and fast at his obstacles, so his jumping gets a huge tick. He ended his novice campaign with a Grade 1 win, he started in open company by looking to have the measure of subsequent runaway Champion Hurdler Espoir D'allen before falling, he then pissed up in the Morgiana dispatching of Sharjah with relative ease - there is a lot to like there.
The big 'if' is his wellbeing now. If he's come out the Matheson fit and well, coming on for the run, then I expect big things from him in March.
he mentioned the other day, about going straight to Cheltenham.
I'd imagine he's back up in case Honey's injured and the race cuts up.
And they may be wary of him not going so well at Cheltenham again having run in dublin.

Even with withdrawals that field is much better than last years, easily actually.

If Aba was under the weather last time I would expect that to have cleared up by the time of this race. They may actually want to run him here because of that. That said I remember they gave him a nice break before the Supreme last season so may do the same again.

Depends on what you consider the withdrawals, based on some of the comments above it may not be surprising if Aba, Saint Roi, Aspire Tower and Saldier all miss this race. Need at least one of those to turn up to make something more than a race between Honeysuckle at Sharjah.
