Since epatante flopping ive had a nice bet on honeysuckle at 16-1 for champion hurdle. I’m hoping today’s result enhances her prospect of turning up for the big race! 16-1 is a price I’m happy to back her at. Anyone have any thoughts or heard anything about her turning up for CH
No, can't say I've heard a thing........
I wonder how much better Honey is at home than Aspire Tower? She'd smash that lot today wouldn't she? As the days go by the more chance she comes here. She has to win the Irish Churdle first though.
Really thought Saint Roi was better than that, very hard to.see how it beats the Epatante if it runs to even 90% of what we have seen. Think i'll cash out some of my SR bets, but will let some run. Maybe Cheltenham in March might bring some improvement. Even i'm not convincing myself!
I thought I was in a great postion coming into Christmas with the churdle! Have shiskin at 5/1 for the arkle with epatante at 4/1 in doubles backed at least 12 times or more and then topped up at lesser prices! Dunno what to make of this race now!
If she turns up in the same form of the Christmas Hurdle, Sharjah will reverse the form surely....
She's blotted her copy book too.....
If its proven that she is in season then you can put a line right through it. Hendo thinks she may be and Coleman said she never travelled so its likely she was.
Think 9/4 will be a great price come the day.
We know its not her true running, with the rest in behind you could say it was / may be..
Think sharjah is maybe not getting the credit here. I thought bar the last hurdle his hurdling was very slick. And also think he would get closer to epatante if maybe not being good enough.
Patrick left sharjah with too much to do and used up all the energy between the turn and the last to get to terms with epatante in the CH.
I would expect he has learned from that and will not allow sharjah to be that far back again

The fighting fifth run wasnt as good as was made out at the time and there was only 1lb difference on RPRs with the xmas hurdle RPRS. I know its not a popular opinion but i dont think shes as good as shes priced up. Id be much keener on Concertista if they went for it

Yea fair points but all have to come up to her level all same.
I think Willie said all systems go for the Mares for Concertista, given her route looks most likely. But we all know that can change there...
Hills went 20s after the race for Abacadabras which is far too big ive gone in again on him. Today clearly was no reflection on his ability, also reported to have scoped badly, I haven't given up on him yet. My biggest winner on the race would be saldier, I just don't know what to make of it. The jockey bookings puzzle me, why wasn't townend on Saint roi? Its as if they had a plan, but I have no idea what that plan was, or if it worked

This was my thinking after the race. His optimal conditions won't appear until Cheltenham comes round and I think he'll run a screamer.
His running today is clearly under par so easy to ignore, especially when the GE stable is struggling a little.

Mark Walsh rode Saint Roi because he is owned by JP. Townend didn't have the option to ride him.
