I Think that Goshens heart arrhythmia was caused by him wanting to run faster and being strongly restrained .He was also unfit to my eye. A pill used for over 60 years by vets can resolve this condition if it continues but it commonly never occurs again .

Song for Someone more likely to miss Champion Hurdle and target Aintree Hurdle instead as Old Course will be too sharp for him.
I'd imagine he'd only take on Epatante if the going was similar to yesterday. Anything quicker and he'd be outpaced.

Hadn't been on a great deal over the weekend, I wasn't avoiding you charlie I promise
Regarding Goshen, I'm happy for many to write him off, I can fully understand this based on that run, but he really did not enjoy being packed in against the inside rail at all for the early part of the race, and he clearly pulled like an absolute train, whereas every other horse in that race settled like a dream. This was obviously going to take it's toll. I've absolutely no idea why connections decided to adopt different tactics to his previous runs, especially when he is the 'quickest horse they've had', bloody let him get on with it then!
There is also the issue that he had a fibrillating heart, not ideal for your first hurdles run of the season, but I'm led to believe this is an issue that can be controlled and got over pretty quickly. On this issue alone I wouldn't put a line through Goshen. We haven't with Paisley Park in the Stayers, what with what happened last season in his race.
It will be interesting to see where they go from here.

That said the horse couldn’t win either of his flat races since the Triumph so maybe there are deeper issues and that heartbreaking Triumph effort is about as good as we’ll ever see from him....

I won't be too quick to judge just yet, as have seen many a horse come back to form, especially after a quiet/poor season straight after a juvenile campaign, Defi Du Seuil being the obvious one.

We lost some good soldiers to that 28/1 offer, proud men who deserved better. Loads of us that got what we were asking for too, but we mustn't dwell, we have to move on together, put it behind us and let the relentless march of time heal the wounds.

Are there any/many realistic targets for Goshen from now until the Champion Hurdle?
Obviously the Xmas hurdle which he won’t run in. Some time off and a run in the new year sometime between Jan/Feb.
I’ve been against him purely from the juvenile aspect from day 1. I just think it seems to take too much out the juveniles to then jump into open company.
Happens most years where the next year most do nothing and almost better having a season off and coming back as a 5 going on 6 year old.
Edit - although at 20/1 if he were to bolt up in his next run, will look a lot more appealing than the 5/1 he opened up for the race.
