  • How short does El Fab go if Jonbon is beaten today? 4/6 or so.. ?

They have an uncanny knack of getting these 'super boosts' beaten though.
These super boosts play with your mind, i did the captain teague one on Friday and when it was beat i said no more but that lasted two days and I've backed jonbon !

Should try lay some of the shorties they select I wonder what the results would be.

          • An owners one .... but

            American Mike (BANC) 25/1
            Found A Fifty (Turners) 20/1

            545/1

            Taken that each way

Exact same price as well, 545/1 for todays form to work out well....

            American Mike (BANC) 25/1

It's not glamourous but the boosts are often a good % and so generally an easy lay on the exchange for a modest chance of a modest free bet. That's how I play them. If overall I'm down at Denise's in doing so then I've lost nothing overall, helped build my 'mug punter' profile, gained a few free wins along the way and also hit a few more markets towards my monthly reards with Betfair.

                I like both of these.

Undecided on the first one as after last weekend Found a Fifty is my biggest single winner at the festival. Which is nothing like my true view of things but I'm not laying any off at the prices as it would tie up too much money for little reward, so I'm stuck with it. Puts me off getting involved but the bet makes a lot of sense.

Going to have some of the second though, as good cheap cover to having neither onside.

                  Better Days Ahead (Bally) 50-1
                  Brighterdaysahead (MNH) 5-1

Or 204/1 if BDA goes AB

                      …. Elliott’s stable tour comment;

’A nice young horse who Jamie Codd has always been a fan of. He worked very well the other day and he has the makings of a nice novice hurdler. I'd stay two and a half miles will be his trip. He stays well.‘

Saying that, 40-1 AB is certainly a consideration.

                      • Have used the John Durkan before for related doubles after the race

Today might be another good chance

                        • Gaelic Warrior & Facile Vega related double both ways looks a possibility now.
Both stand out novice chasers for Mullins on hurdle form and on debut over fences.
The rest have a lot to find from what we've seen.

Could easily both end up in same race, but Townend would probably not like it, and possibly not Willie either.

The bigger prices are for if Gaelic goes arkle obviously, but you could see this happen, if he beats either of the other top 2 in the market, or even if Marine beats Facile prior to March, so it could happen.

Ladbrokes look best prices, but no cash out.

I'd have to have Marine Nationale with Gaelic Warrior as well if I did the FV one

                            Like it though#

Can't really see me backing GW in a single for the Turners so this makes sense for me (as a BANC backer)

                            • Got the option of doubling Colonel Mustard on Friday in the John Francombe, with Found A Fifty in the Drinmore. Currently pays 28/1 with Bet365. Could also do CM tomorrow and FAF for the Turners which is 188/1 with the same company.

                              • As riccirich mentioned in the Stayers thread

If Dashel Drasher wins at 3.00 today, surely Marie's Rock goes back for the Mares Hurdle rather than Stayers?

                                84/1 for the related double

Makes some sense as a good cover bet, especially if you like Dashel Drasher for today

1741/1 for a Marie's Rock (Mares) / Dashel Drasher (Stayers) which is worth an each way consideration
