He was talked about and backed to win his Arkle and smashing the second last out the ground was probably the difference in that race, so they have always expected big things from him.
This year has just been a non starter, horrific over 3m and stable been desperate all season, how good is the real Fakir Doudaries ? If JOB shows some form and FD gets nibbled at in the lead up to whatever engagement he takes it might pay to follow the money, my feeling is the race that suits best is the QM and I’d be hopeful he hits the places there, but Joseph needs to have his in top order otherwise there’s no point sending any of his over...

Remember backing Uxizandre at a big price for the QM and then didnt touch him for the Ryanair. Sicking

However, Fakir appears to have really good pace, not tactical pace, but pace that got him around an Arkle, with front runners, on the sharper old course. He's displayed the ability to carry that pace onto the end, staying on the PTKO who is also considered by some needing a step up.

He's a horse you just want to set off and allow him to find his rhythm and stay on. Better chance of this in the Ryanair over the new course, than the old course in the in the QM

There arent many 2 and a half mile grade 1 races, otherwise he would have been in them. Instead, Fakir has been campaigned over 2 and 3 miles this season.

I recommend anyone, if they have 5 mins, to watch how Fakir travelled and jumped in his only chase run over middle distance. He was class that day.

He's been heavily tried over 2 miles, hurdles and chase. I dont see why they would continue this trend and go for the QM when they have the Ryanair, a distance which is he still unexposed over, and a race which doesnt have a potential superstar in it (unlike the QM with CPS).

Luckily for me, I decided to back Fakir a few months back for any race. Finally I did something half decent for once lol

If I had to back him in one race now... I would back him for the Ryanair - I really fancy him for that now, after his last run which makes me think he's back in form.
12/1 with PP compared to 7/1 with Skybet NRNB. Cheltenham form is good and JOB seems to be coming back to form. I'd like to see him in this as I couldn't have Allaho or Imperial Aura finishing ahead of him. Min and Melon are the dangers to me, but Melon is always the bridesmaid and Min has questions following the DRF. 12s is good value to me NRNB

      • I have split stakes between the following EW doubles:

        Energumene Arkle (5/2) x Franco De Port W/O Envoi Allen (9/1) = 34/1

        Energumene Arkle W/O Shishkin (4/6) x Franco De Port W/O Envoi Allen (9/1) = 15.67/1

I thought these were worth a go for a few reasons:
        • The related formline following their runs at the DRF last weekend
        • I like the Franco De Port NRNB 9/1 W/O NRNB as a bet as a single anyway. I feel like the Marsh could really cut up and essentially playing with an "extra" place with the W/O Envoi market is a nice angle imo. If Energumene goes for the Arkle too, it takes out one of FDP's main rivals in the W/O Envoi Allen market.
        • Just speculation but I wonder whether Willie might be inclined to split them up?
There is the risk Willie opts to run Energumene in the Marsh but happy to take on that risk with these.

          • Druid's Altar (Boodles) 25s
            Zanahiyr (Triumph 11/4

            Double - 96.5/1 with 365

Given Joseph's record, and how easily Zanahiyr beat him... looks a nice related double, albeit speculative

It's a decent enough shout. And if Zanahiyr wasn't already worth potentially enough to me I would probably back it.

                  Skysthelimit has just mentioned this.

If BDD doesn't run in either..... connections MAY fancy the Mares Hurdle / Mares Chase ..... and if they did, they'd both be shorter?

I very much hope this doesn't even have 1 runner to be fair, but it's a good bet IMO.

Good luck mate. He might have his best chance in the Boodles as its as close to a flat winner he's gonna get.

Allaho / Champ....still 65s NRNB .....and assume Champ might shorten couple points or more if he runs well

Just added bit to my earlier one .....still poss RSA firm redeems itself

if ur feeling v optimistic Allaho / Minella now long price
