Backed EA (Marsh) & Shishkin (Arkle) 30/1 just after the festival - threw a couple of points at that. Happy so far!

4th time at the race on the one hand makes me think WHY are they doing it when they've only won 1 of the 3! (although the F could be marked up) - but then I just think, they've gone for that race for 3 years, what would be different for a 10 year old.
The answer is hopefully, the inaugral winning of the Mares Chase...
It'd be bad for me financially at this stage, but I'd love to see her in the Stayers Hurdle if she doesn't go chasing....but I don't give a fuck about who the best 'Mare over the intermediate trip is' and I never, ever will. Fucking pointless division.

Of course you only joined in Sept, so you couldn't know this...
I completely agree though, I'm also really happy....but that might be a bit silly as neither have actually been seen since that date, we need to make sure they can jump over fences before getting too carried away.

For Ricci:
Chacun Pour Soi - 5/1 QMCC
Min - 10/1 Ryanair
65/1 double.... targets are confirmed which is rare for a Mullins duo!
Can you name 3 horses in front on each?
I think they're a solid each way bet.

That's him finishing 4th, end of bet

I definitely see the logic behind the BDD (mares hurdle) and Salsaretta double. Willie will go with what he believes is the easiest option as you rightly say. It’s just whether 47/1 is any value or not. It’s short enough isn’t it?! BDD won’t have it easy against honey and Salsaretta is by no means bomb broof.
One I thought of after rouge vif’s heroics yesterday the Arkle has rightly been getting a lot of attention as to the quality of it. I’m still on the fence myself but rouge vif’s form yesterday undoubtedly franks for the form to a certain extent even if it was a weakish race for the track. Anyway, as Joseph stated in his ATR stable tour that they would look to step Fakir up in trip. What about the PTKO CC and Fakir Ryanair double?

For anyone who believes the Arkle form is strong.

As most of you probably know, I've been backing her with free bets for the Mares Chase. This is clearly very speculative and I've not been able to justify any 'real money' bets.
Reading the comments from the stable, whilst they definitely haven't ruled out going chasing, in fact they have even teased it, history and the patterns that provides, as well as the literal comments, suggest the Mares Hurdle is where she goes.
Despite thinking Salsaretta is one of the worst priced horses of all time at 6/1, part of my thinking for that is because I feel I know they have a better horse in the same ownership in the same stable... however....if I take a step back, is there a possible related double?
Benie Des Dieux (Mares Hurdle), Salsaretta (Mares Chase)... as much as I hate to admit it, if they consider Benie Des Dieux beating Honeysuckle EASIER than whatever Salsaretta might be facing, then there may be something in that?
Would they get it so wrong, that Benie loses against Honeysuckle AND Salsaretta isn't their best chance in the Mares Chase?
People are tipping up novices all over the shop for this, or handicappers. Of couse Salsaretta is only rated 148 where even the likes of Happy Diva are 153, so part of the thinking about the related double is flawed as Salsaretta in my opinion is still bad value.
All in all, I haven't managed to convince myself yet that the 47/1 is a good bet each way..... but interested to know what people think?
Anything involving Salsaretta at 6/1 is a frankly awful bet. She’s the worst price horse of the festival. By a mile. Makes Goshen look like a value price.
I genuinely believe that not a single of her 15 runs would be good enough to place in a cheltenham festival race - let alone one that could have a couple of grade 1 horses pop up. I still can’t quite believe she’s 6/1. She ought to be 3 times that at the very least. 6/1. Incredible.

Whilst I get the reason 'against' Benie going for the Mares Chase, the reasons 'for' really do stack up:
1. The Mares Hurdle hasn't been the kindest to her, with a 1/3 record including being beaten by an improving Honeysuckle last year.
2. She won't be any better as a 10 year old this season, and Honeysuckle may well improve again as she comes into her prime.
3. Winning the inaugural running of the Mares Chase will surely be on their mind and Willie likes those sorts of things. There can only ever be one first winner.
5. Winning the Mares Chase adds to her value and the value of her foals in the breeding shed.
4. And most compelling of all is Willie's modus operandi is togo for the easiest race which the Mares Chase undoubtedly is.
In my mind if she's fit and it's her last season which is widely believed, then it would seem like a really odd decision to go for any other race.Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Leaving little room for a prep race over fences.
And secondly, and often forgotten. Is how competitive Mullins is. He was fuming she got beat, and revenge is a big driver with the old fella.
They don't call him Vengeful Willie for nothing.
You only have to look him in the eye, he's a 'wrong un'

As per Q:
1. Willie badly wants revenge for last March and he still believes that BDD would have won with a better ride.
2. Mrs Ricci becomes increasingly edgy about her mares going over fences as they get older and closer to retirement. Vroum Vroum Mag is a case in point.
