  • Thought to might be trying to list out as many of the key potential scenarios that might play out at DRF in key races and potential opportunities.....as they are mostly doubles, then this seemed the thread

One i have been looking at so far in card order....

    1. Do any of the 4 year olds go to Boodles?....Kala, Kargese, Karafon all could

    2. Already much discussed, but what if GW beats Marine Nationale? He could go Arkle, with Facil and/or F2F going Turners

    3. What is GDC thrashes Fast.....would Fast switch to Ryanair, where he could have a fav chance?

    4. What if one of Grange or F2F thrashes other? Could one go Turners and one Browns

    5. What is Facile is brilliant upped in trip.....likely goes Turners, but not impossible he goes Browns

    6. If Ballyburn wins as we expect, many good ones may go Ballymore. Could be some great doubles opps

    7. If Dinoblue beats El Fab (last run RPRs tie them, so not totally mad), then she must go QM. Double opportunities with Mares & potential Jonbon move

    8. Impaire, or even Bob (come on !!), could beat State Man.....prob sees winner go CH too. But the gap on ratings not that greaet

    9. If more likely State man win again, the surely Impaire goes Stayers (doubles?)

Im sure there are a few more......but hope that helps with bit of a checklist re potential gaps it might create in books

Pretty much anything you fancy to beat Ballyburn would go to favourite in the Supreme and all but ensure Ballyburn goes Ballymore... I'll probably cover something like this depending on decs tomorrow.

I've personally played GW (Arkle) and FTF (Turners), FTF (Turners) and Grangeclare (BA), FTF (BA) Grangeclare (NHC) so far in the novice chasers.

      • I reckon Mystical Power will still be supreme fav after the DRF whatever the result of the 2m race. IMO Ballyburn will go Ballymore even if he wins. Sir Gino won't be budged at the head of the Triumph market. I'm coming round to the idea that Gaelic wins the Irish Arkle and will go to the English version only to be beaten by stablemate Hunters Yarn . That'll leave the Turners to FTF and open the BANC up for SAF to win with Embassy Gardens running away with the NHC..................Simples

Depends on the nature of the defeat if Ballyburn were to lose I suppose. If he totally flops then yeah MP will probably be favourite. If something beats Ballyburn on merit then it could be interesting... Would guess whatever wins will have a higher RPR than 144 though.

          • Im very much in the F2f turners camp even though theres been plenty of sustained money for the BANC. A win in the Flogas would imo cement his position in the Turners so I think the f2f turners/GCW Banc is a solid double to have. Its not unfeasible to think that them 2 are clear of the pack at the weekend

            • You've inspired me to put on a Dinoblue (CC), Jonbon (Ryanair) and Brides Hill (Mares Chase) NRNB treble. Which I think is likely to end as a Brides Hill single but I'm alright with that, and could be a good time for that anyway...

                    Many thanks.

Need to do some proper head scratching today then and get any pre DRF Festival bets on before they are revealed.

Can envisaged some big price cuts...........or not.

                    • Not even gone past the fav in the first race for the DRF before finding a couple of related doubles I like....

Caldwell Potter (BB) / Predators Gold (AB) at 265/1 (boosted with Lads) which would be the related formline - 1 pt e/w

Gold Dancer (BB) / Predators Gold (AB)at 337/1 NRNB - for Gigginstown - bought and sent to Willie - 1 pt e/w

The way PP have priced Predators Gold NRNB at 7/1 for the AB and me seeing the race as more a Bartlett Trial than a Baring Bingham trial has me quite happy with both of these. Obviously Predators Gold has to go and win will on Saturday to make them live but I think both angles are perfectly valid at the prices they are. Who knows, maybe Gigginstown will buy Caldwell Potter

Also thinknig about if Loughglynn wins at the weekend, he goes AB fav and Stellar Story who would have been beaten gets his 4th run and has his form franked for the Martin Pipe (a bit of a leap here I know)

                      It's 168/1 NRNB though

Loughglynn (AB) / Stellar Story (MP) 168/1 NRNB

                      • Redemption Day in the DRF bumper and Jalon D'oudairies for the Cheltenham bumper... It's not hugely exciting but for anyone not on JD it's an opportunity to get him on board in what would look a big form boost.

                        • With O'Learys unsure of Conflated target for Chelt as of now, Ryanair is still on the cards still for him. Theres a nice EW double to be had with BF Sportsbook with Delta Work 4s for Cross Country and Conflated 66s for Ryanair. The place double itself pays almost 25/1

You'd have to give him a good chance of winning too with ADTS having so long off the track and a setback

                            Plus the better ground

He won't have liked the ground when getting beat by jalon
