Proper horse and a great ride, just unlucky there.

Rob James taking sire on a guided tour of the Cotswolds not help either. Not his finest hour. Hopefully make amends in the last fingers crossed.

Haha sometimes it pays to spread your bets! - Third Wind 25/1 winner - get in!
Rendlesham winner and 4th in this in 2020!
Hopefully no problem in the stewards room

The Shunter was sold to JP last season too. Plus Grand National winner Noble Yeats was sold to the Waley-Cohen's back in February.

I suspect there is a strategy in place to try and win races and still maximize value. Paul Byrne must be ahead on his 'in-racing' purchases, which is unusual in this game.

                        • Pertemps Qualifiers

One or two have been lost to the weather this season.

When there are 16 and only 4 Qualify from each this season (not 6) then losing a couple makes the number of horses that can qualify, and want to run at Cheltenham, a bit too low.

So it looks like this coming weekend, as well as the Qualifier at Musselburgh on Sunday, that the
Heroes Handicap at Sandown in Saturday has been converted to a Pertemps Qualifier, too (I presume for one year only and because of a couple being lost to the weather).

So standby to keep a check on these.

Gordon Elliott has entries in both, some for "mark snifiing" and potentially he might let one or two come over and run.

The Bosses Oscar is in the Musselburgh one.

Favori de Champdou in the Sandown one

The extra spice to the Heroes Hcap Hurdle being a Pertemps Qualifier is that its a Premier Hcap Hurdle in its own right and worth almost 60-grand to the winner.

This is similar to the actual prize pot in the Pertemps Final.

So dont be surprised if one or two of the Irish entries decide to come to Sandown Park on Saturday

                          Worth checking them out.
                          2.55pm Sandown, Saturday

The first 4 would normally have to really decent to be placed or win that Premier Hcap.

So we should get some extra-interesting qualified horses on Saturday for the Pertemps Final

                              Could be.

Bigger pot than the DRF 3-Miler hes entered in, too.

Looks like he's "doing a Gaelic Warrior" and maybe going for a big Graded HcapH as his prep for Cheltenham

He's out to 30's on the exchange for the bartlett. Which, given the number of contenders might be normal.
It just seems big enough, even though he has 2 handicap entries.
I'm not sure Gordon will send one of his bigger hopes to Sandown, as the owners and most of Ireland will be looking at Dublin, but you never know. Especially if the ground is very different.
