  • Does anyone have any thoughts on the likelihood of The Bosses Oscar coming back here for a second attempt? Clearly he just hasn't taken to fences, and to my mind, this race would represent his only possible chance of going close at the festival. Has anyone seen anything about a reversion to hurdles mentioned?

Running out of time to get him qualified if that’s the plan, only Exeter, Haydock & Chepstow left after this weekends qualifier at Musselburgh.

      • Brorson not declared for the 3m novice at Mus on Sat so hoping he takes up the qualifier option on Sun, wins well and comes here off circa 135. Love his early season course form with Top Bandit & Jetoile & looks a relentless galloper. Have already taken a flyer NRNB for AB but would much prefer him in this. UK hcaper giving novices big chances in hcaps this year…

        • Harringtons Silver Sheen entered for qualifer on sunday. She really fancied this one for the pertemps last year (see RP article).
Not listed at all yet on ochecker. Shall we get it added ?

Or is this a no chance qualifying wise?

Won LTO off a mark of 122 and races on Sunday off a mark of 131. The handicapper could of course catch up with him, but he made a complete mockery of his last 10lbs rise and won doing handstands. I'm expecting him to win on Sunday, go up to 138+ (nine from the last eleven rated at least 138) and half in price. You're siding with David rather than Goliath backing this fella as he's trained by Nick Alexander up in Scotland, but, he's a lovely big grey that clearly loves his racing over 3m, has a sound jumping technique and does everything effortlessly. Goes on all sorts of ground and if he wins on Sunday then his form over 3m will read 131111.

Like this Charlie, I mentioned the horse for this I’m sure a while back and been waiting for it to be entered again. Thanks for highlighting this.

Not sure on this year's qualifiers but based on the last few years should get in down towards the bottom off 134. Definitely get in with a win on Sunday, or a decent placed effort I'd have thought.

To qualify just has to finish within the first six on Sunday.

              • This could end up being a masterful training performance if Tullybeg goes straight here after qualifying in October. Gordon entered Tullybeg at the cheltenham open meeting in 2020, fishing for a mark and hes gone and got the horse qualified at the earliest chance this time round. He was fishing again recently and i think Tullybeg was given 140 .
oh and…. Form book out the window again, gordons 3 winners have all worn tongue ties, just like this lad

Hope you’re right mate, been on him since he ran at Cheltenham. Certainly feels like a long term plan.

I'm in two minds about him - he was meant to be the last leg of a Ferny Hollow, TMSG, American Mike, Tullybeg yankee for more than double my annual pay. If the other two win I think I'd want him to lose just for the what if scenario!

                      You cash that out?

                      • Just listened to a Gordon interview he said Folcano would be entered for this and the Pipe and they would decide closer to the time

Still running - was FH 16/1, TMSG 8/1, AM 20/1, Tully 25/1. Treble would still pay a nice return only a 10th of the four winners outcome so it would be mixed feelings given I'm convinced ferny would have won arkle

Was keen on him for this earlier in season but can't see it now after he's looked a non-stayer twice. As ComplyOrDie said much earlier than me, he seems much better suited to coral or pipe

                              Still a nice return mate!

                              • Brorson declared on Sunday. Would need to win & 5lbs to get in off around 135 I reckon. I really like the profile of this horse even though it’s trained by Keighley!
