Prize money at weekend more than covers supplement fee. Maybe that's the plan. Win/win situation for owners.

I thought that, until I saw the jockey bookings.

      • ….Maxxum 10-1 Sat & Pert with Hills.

Plenty win & Pert prices with Hills, I’ve listed them in ‘win today’ thread although I appreciate those with the Final in mind might not be looking to win on Saturday.

The right time to catch him, IMO, was the qualifying win, he was a big price then (40/1 that could have been boosted). I'd not be that excited if he were to win this time around though as his mark will go up plenty, so I'd mark this down as one to avoid, personally.

Not sure about that as he'll certainly be trying to win with the prize on offer. If he were to lose then his Pertemps chances would diminish.

He had to win LTO to get a big rise in the weights, for me that looked fairly obvious, hence backing it. He doesn't need that rise now.

Also, Delta Work lost in the race at the DRF before winning the Pertemps, so I don't think his chances will diminish too much given we have some history from the same trainer with it.

              • Bardenstown Lad in the qualifier at Musselburgh on Sunday. He's been jumping fences like a Snooker Table all season, and now turns up in a pertemps qualifier, he's rated 141 over hurdles. The 3rd in Albert Bartlett last season behind The Nice Guy & Minella Cocooner, but Infront of Ballygrifincottage, Ramilies, Mahler Mission etc.

This might be the most Plotty McPlotface plan of the season, as there's no way after 1 run that horse should have been jumping fences. If he qualifies in the top 4 Sunday, staying on hands and heels, he'll be a Max Ew bet for me in the Pertemps.

                      • As if eric bloodaxe being in the betting with firms isn't bad enough, you can accept they may not have removed him.
But the fact he's blue on oddschecker with a couple of firms is beyond belief.

Apparently firms keep horses in the betting until the death has been formally registered with authorities and that process can take some time, this is why horses that are known to no longer be with us can still appear in markets.
As for the blue, yeah despicable...

Registered with HRI yesterday Ista, no excuse personally, they're quick enough to remove a horse from the market when it suits them.

Yeah I agree with the festival markets stuff slips through.
But firms have gone blue, maybe gone nrnb.
Did they review the markets to change prices, yes they did.
so is it to much to expect they take a registered dead horse out of their market??

Yeah I don’t doubt that Jim, but I actually went into a Corals a few years ago and asked why they were quoting a horse who was known to not be with is anymore, they rang through and said it hadn’t been registered with BHA.
Perhaps the delay is with HRI notifying BHA ?
Or maybe those bookies really are scum…
