    • All 7 of Gordon's that are qualified are intended runners...and all 7 are 20/1 or less.

Come on bookies, we don't want to have to actually work for it.

You do know you're wrong though now don't you?

It's something punters should be made aware of as it doesn't seem to be common knowledge.

In horse racing, an ante-post bet is one placed before the runners are confirmed at the final declaration stage. ... Bookmakers usually offer ante-post betting markets for big races right up the final declaration stage (24 to 48 hours before the off), when they switch to a non-runner no-bet or non-runner money-back market.1 Jun 2021

You can only help people that want to be helped.

Why would so many people try and be putting you away Chris?

Why would I choose, as the owner of the forum, to try and mislead people with my original point?

Why would so many people give you explanations about this specific scenario?

Do you think it's all a big conspiracy?

Why haven't you got a face

1.3. If the horse is balloted out or eliminated under Jockey Club rules single bets will be void. In any such cases, accumulative Ante-Post bets will stand on the remaining legs, at the prices laid on the selections in those races, with a double becoming a single, a treble becoming a double, etc.

Chris if we have had bets AP which have then been balloted out and bookmakers have given us our money back, I would venture you may be wrong

I'm only trying to help and let people know what to expect regarding antepost bets but if I'm wrong then I must eat humble pie.

Didn’t quite like the way I phrased my statement, I’m not trying to be combative at all. I learn something every week with the fellows on here.

Horses which are declared but don’t make the cut due to oversubscription of the race are known as balloted out.
basically as this isn’t the fault of the punter, Bookies give you your Antepost money back.

Some auto do it, some you need to chase but it’s 100% how balloted out bets are settled. Had it happen with me well over 20+ times in the last 5-10 years.

Just as people are only trying to help with you what to expect regarding returns from horses who get balloted out.

Have you got your own cutlery?

                          • ….I’ve mentioned Mars Harper for this and now GE confirms it’s a target. Qualified early, I thought very quietly ridden around the inside last time, just above Dunboyne in the ratings he might sneak in with a low mark.

I feel like the Pertemps is going to be a pot luck job as to which Elliott runner is his 'number one' for the race By the sounds of it he could end up with anywhere between 5-7 runners in the race.

                              • This race seems to have turned into the race where we have to try and figure out which of GEs horses has been held back the most and with 7 possibilities it will likely get pretty expensive to pay to find out...so in true Dragons Den style...for that reason I’m out.
