Proschema looks lively here off 145 IMO. If they bin off stayers route this looks winnable off that mark.

I would still say Gordon has something in mind for the Xmas qualifier in Ireland, what he has qualified currently doesn't seem to match his usual pertemps profiles. And hopefully that will be a bit more apparent as his main dart as it's a bit of a mess to sieve through his 6 or so, so far!

Hes such a strong traveller I could see him placing in a stayers, he'd probably be last off the bridle but won't find enough to get near winning

Presenting Percy, Sire Du Berlais, Delta Work and The Storyteller were better than handicappers and all came through here.
All the Festival Handicap Hurdles can be breeding grounds for future Graded horses.
Galopin des Champs, Don Poli and Sir Des Champs through the M.Pipe, all Grade 1 winners within months.
Depends how much Dan wants Festival winners.
Proschema is only rated 145, so if his next two races were.
* Pertemps Qualifier
* Pertemps Final
then up in Grade, it's not too much time to spend finding out.
The horse wouldn't be a Graded horse if he couldn't be competitive off 145 in a Pertemps Final"Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

To be fair the gap between G1 and the Pertemps is probably less than the gap is for any of the other handicaps.
Few horses stay hurdling their entire career so a good staying hurdler inevitably goes chasing, so it’s possible for handicappers to step up the graded class from here, think Sire du Berlais who has won this twice and been competitive in top staying races since.
So whilst I don’t have a strong view on Proschema he could make the transition…

I immediately thought pertemps first then Aintree when he said it last week.
With a horse that travels like he does, he should have no problem getting placed only in a qualifier, anything under 150 and he's a massive chance IMO.
I mentioned in my diary and didn't want it on the main threads as someone will get quoted 8-1 by Sky or something
It Probably don't matter though as it's quite an obvious one I reckon.
Although Dan may well favour a grade one next.
I just think that with the fall the other day, he has the perfect excuse to reset, go for a qualifier (restore confidence mr stewards) and then put him away until spring and go Pertemps then aintree grade 1.
There you go DAN, write it down, so you remember it !

Seems to have been around for years, and touted to win several festival races in that time...

Dread to think what the UK capper would do with his rating.
Having just won a big prize at Navan, then his job may be done for the season, in handicaps.
Unless he gets low 150’s and they put the same claimer on again, for the Leopardstown Pertemps Qualifier.
Maybe he’s worth putting into the Stayers too, as a longshot, he was only beaten a close second by Minella Indo in the Albert Bartlett in his last full season racing (with Allaho in 3rd, 7L behind).
