Early Entries must be soon now.

The My Drogo form is some of the best UK novice form imo, along with Metier.

At 149 for Metier, will they give him a Betfair entry?
It would suit his high cruise running style, and be a decent way to go to the Supreme.
(higher rating than most/all? Novices tend to carry in the Betfair though).
Yeah llandinabo form stacks as well as anything this side of the water for a 140 mark, hard to knock. Fry mentioned the Betfair pre and post race so definitely on his mind, he joked post race he would be happy on running off 142, and after sat he must be thinking long and hard over 149.

From the Maiden when he was a close 3rd to Fantasio D'Alene and Vanillier.

I thought that could be key Maiden race form, and it looks all the better since.

He has the same sire as Monkfish and the same damsire as Monkfish and to me he is a Graded class 3M Novice Hurdler this season.

20/1 could look generous after one more run, up in class.
The public have followed us in on STATTLER for the Albert Bartlett, Oddschecker blue on the ones that remained at 20/1 last night, now 16/1 generally.

For those who haven't already backed him, 20/1 (can be boosted to 22/1) still available with Ladbrokes.

            • Harry Fry on Metier

He’s won a Grade 1, we knew going into the race to be winning a race like the Tolworth you had to be running near 150 on previous years, so he’s gone up 7lb to 149. It’s no great surprise.

“We’ve given him an entry for the Betfair Hurdle and it makes his life a little bit harder – I’d have definitely fancied him off 142 – but it gives us an interesting choice.

“My Tent Or Yours won the Betfair off 149 as a novice, so it can be done, and we’ll make up our minds in the coming weeks whether we take up that engagement or go straight for the Supreme.

“We’ve got the option and we’ll see how the horse is in the next few weeks before having a look at the race and deciding if we take our chance. It’s a good dilemma to have.”

Reflecting on the Tolworth with the Betfair Hurdle in mind, Fry reasons that a harder gallop will unlock even further improvement in the Mastercraftsman gelding.

“It’s very rarely races go quite so smoothly, let alone at that level,” Fry added. “We were delighted and the fact we didn’t have to make our own running was a real plus.

“They could have gone faster again and it would’ve suited him, he travelled so well, he just thrives off a strong gallop and I don’t think he’s had that yet. Hopefully when he gets a really strongly-run race it will suit him even better.”

GAILLARD DU MESNIL is my pick from Willies for the Ballymore, he looked all class stepped out in trip, and he left his bumper and hurdles form behind last weekend.
I would expect to see him in a Graded race next time maybe even the 2M6F Grade 1 at the DRF.

16/1 now, and along with BOB OLINGER are my two picks for the mid-trips, they could clash at the DRF.
GAVIN LYNCH has just followed me in on my two horses, in his Upping The Ante picks.

                GAILLARD DU MESNIL Ballymore 16/1

                STATTLER Albert Bartlett 16/1

Looks like a further price drop coming.

“Boothill has been held up by a splint," Fry said. "We’re not going to run him in January but we’d already earmarked the Sydney Banks and hopefully we’ll see him there.”

                        • Do we think there's any real chance Bob Olinger will end up in the Supreme? Hard to read huge amounts into his last run, decent though it was, but all told he's definitely shaped up more as though he'd prefer the Ballymore trip.

Hope not as I only have him for the Ballymore. Hopefully he wins this Sunday(over 2m4f) and cements himself as a top contender for the Ballymore.

Was going to point out that I backed Stattler at 50/1 for the Bartlett in a trixie with Galvin in as well (other selection is awful mind) and been backing him any race since l don't know when, but I was always under the impression Ronnie Bartlett owned him

I'd doubt it now, not with the likely switch of Appreciate It. I think he'd be tougher opposition that what is in the Ballymore but will need to do the business in the Lawlors at the weekend first anyhow.

I'd probably back him NRNB for the Supreme as cover though.
