Asterion Forlonge’s hurdles debut was at Naas on January 5th (after a bumper win on the 21st November), then the DRF then the Supreme.

That Naas meeting is 5 days later this year, it’s on 10th January, a week on Sunday, so watch out for entries for it coming out on Tuesday, and any big-shot bumpers like Kilcruit having a hurdles entry.
Asterion Forlonge’s switch from bumpers was to beat Pencilfulloflead (Gordon Elliott) into 2nd, who also switched from bumpers in the same race.

    • Or maybe Gordon, with his three Juvenile stars, could switch one to the Supreme, and get the weight allowance.

I like your train of thought with a Mullins bumper horse going over hurdles, think Kilcruit is a nice one that would suit hurdles.
Of course he is. I was having a brain fart. Hollow Games could be another to consider then.

That’s an interesting thought SW. It might be worth getting that on Gordon’s radar. The 4yo allowance is potentially just as useful as the mares allowance.

By the time we’ve finished this thread we can have both Zanahiyr and Sir Gerard in the Supreme, which would solve how I get them onside!!

I'm not sure Gordon will want to be shifting two of his likely 'good things' both for two of his most supportive owners to go for a race that is far less likely for them to win though.

I think he's more likely to send a horse like Quilixios there for the owners of Sir Gerhard, given Zanahiyr has had the majority of the money for him in the Triumph, which I can't believe is just punters money. I'm pretty sure there is plenty of stable money connected also.

I agree. They’re a punting stable and it usually pays to follow the cash, and ignore when there isn’t any.

              • 7/1 for Metier for the Supreme....a over reaction in my opinion, he won well there but not much quality in behind to justify that cut??

Was surprised to see him clipped so much, but then it's a very open race at this point.

...12-1 Hills but they’ve all given it a good haircut.

                    • Normally with the likes of Appreciate It at the head of the Supreme market , Metier would be 12s . Its the elephant in the room. The bookies are insuring against a IRE no show

Fits with Bet365 cutting the leading British contenders in all races very short today. More reasonable price elsewhere but they are probably still an overreaction.

Massively, well clear on the clock today but ground dependant and ex flat just shows how poor a year it is to be so short. I'd be hopeful he's at least that on the day unless it was a bog.

                          • Worst grade 1 in recent memory...horrible price. I'd fancy Ballyadam with 3 legs tbh.
