Appreciate It runs in the Grade 1 Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle and I think he’s come on a great deal since his opening win over hurdles at Cork. We possibly could go out in trip with him later in the season but I think two miles is fine for him right now
Can’t put much faith in anything his says now....but it’s good to hear nonetheless (if that makes sense?!)

I read that as being very likely he is a Ballymore horse, but you could read it as he'll stay at 2m until beaten if you wanted to.

So essentially not changed much, anyone who thought he'll be going Ballymore still will, but Supreme still an option.

      • I don't even think I want Appreciate It to win over 2m.

I've backed Ballyadam and Keskonrisk in the Supreme and I really like Fire Attack too, it'd probably be best for me if one of them wins and AI stays on very strongly in to second

        Bubbles gonna be burstin'

I think you'll get your wish Kev. Can't see him having gears to beat Ballyadam. If he does surprise me though and win then I'd be pretty certain they'll stick to 2 miles especially after losing Ferney.

I don't buy in to that myself.

I don't understand why it's more important to have a Supreme candidate than a Ballymore candidate.

To be fair, I also think Willie will have more options for 2m by this time next week, but we'll see.

I won't be devastated by an Appreciate It loss, but I want him to be going close, as I think he has the ability to be involved in all the graded novice hurdles this season.

            Have a good Christmas.

Time to start putting that on every post

              Agree.
Mullins may well have other options for the supreme.
              But if they don't emerge.
And he beats Ballyadam easily (I think he will) - 100% do not buy into him not having pace.
Then the supreme on slower going may come into it and it's always tempting to try and get a winner in the first race as it takes the pressure off (they say this all the time).

However, I do believe in this horse's case that some money is down for the ballymore,

Willie's had enough blanks on Day One and won the festival for me to hope that wouldn't become a factor.

It did cross my mind though (the pressure this) when I was typing "I don't understand why...." but couldn't be bothered re-typing it more accurately. Not sure why, not like I'm a rush to be anywhere

I might, MIGHT, have a healthy bet on AI to do the double. It's a race where I'd be amazed if he ran in the Supreme without winning this race. Even falling at the last when clear wouldn't nail him to the Supreme. A win means it's a definite consideration.

Then again, I backed him enough any race already for this scenario not to annoy me... it's just I have him in some speculative multiples that might look sexy.

                  Good luck with that

Kinda feels like a win win for Appreciate It providing he doesn't get battered. He wins and its great placing bubble burst Ballyadam, he loses and most will say he needs further.

I'm delighted they clash though. Proper race, and I really rate Appreciate It, but I think Ballyadam will win. Let battle commence

                  • Also to add, if he beats Ballyadam over 2m with Appreciate It and reckons he has something better in the yard for the Supreme anyway, that’s the other angle as well. AI winning doesn’t alter his potential long term target.

Appreciate we can only go with what we’ve seen but that’s another take imo.

As we’ve seen already he has bundles of novices, even now nailing targets is a needle in a haystack!

                    • Belter of a race isn’t it and a freebie for Willie to see whether AI has enough speed. I believe that a win and especially a good win, could easily change his target... why step up when you’ve beat the ante post fav. I also believe that he is up there with the best of the novices in the yard and don’t buy that they have a better and ready made supreme horse. Merry Christmas all!

Not sure this is the two horse race that many think. Imagine the scenes when they both get turned over

Ngolo does them both for the scenes

                          • Lots of rain forecasted and I think the possibility of heavy ground brings N'Golo into the equation.

                            • I honestly think the only chance Appreciate It has of winning at Cheltenham is the Albert. I believe Mullins thinks that too but............They see him as a Chaser and therefore a horse for the 2022 Fez. They won't want to kill him in an Albert. I do think several would be too quick for him in a Supreme and a few in the Ballymore (especially Bob Ollinger who I adore). He'll finish 2nd/3rd at Xmas and will run in the Ballymore where he'll finish 2nd/3rd. He's a very good horse............but not for next year and not for hurdles. I'll back him at big prices for the RSA in 2022 when he gets beat in March. Happy days .
