....as I say, I wonder if they were acting on a post-race quote. PP are 20-1 Supreme and 40-1 Ballymore, so they seem convinced he might be more about speed. He looks a powerhouse and certainly wasn’t stopping at the end today, his two PTPs he finished runner-up over 3 miles suggesting the intermediate trip might suit.
Strange reaction to the markets, I actually thought that performance might have had more impact.

In all seriousness, he wasn't stopping today, suggesting he'd get further, although his bumper win also suggested this. I wouldn't worry too much about him not staying 3m in his PTP's, he'll be a different animal to what he was back then.
Time will tell anyway, best of luck with your bet on him

Keith Donoghue Q&A
Kieran Canavan (@KieranCanavan8) asked "How has Ballyadam been since the Royal Bond? Thanks"
Ballyadam has been in great form and he went back into work this week and has been great. He's a very exciting horse to have and all roads seemingly lead to the Supreme at Cheltenham

Yow Tran (@YowTran1) asked: "Hi Keith. Fakiera beat Farouk D'Alene last time out. Was that Farouk's true running or is Fakiera now a better prospect for Cheltenham and which race would they likely be aimed for?"
A bit of both actually. I don't think for a second that this was Farouk D'Alene's true running. He just never looked comfortable at all in the race and I'd forgive him that. Nothing has shown up in his check ups afterwards so we have to just get going again with him and hope it was a once off. If he can leave that behind him he is definitely one to be in the reckoning for an Albert Bartlett.
Fakiera really impressed me, but he's one who will be much better over a fence and I'm not sure whether he would actually want to go to Cheltenham this year. He might be better off avoiding that this year, but he's definitely good enough.

A thought to consider. Boothill is a bigger price than Dusart in the Supreme market, but to my eye was no less impressive, albeit in a very different race. It seemed to me a stiffer pace in the Supreme might be perfect.
His stablemate Metier might be the one to be stepped up in trip given he started out over 2m2f and was a middle distance flat horse. I also wonder whether they think Metier's better right handed given his campaign so far over hurdles since switching from Andy Slattery. His improved runs on the flat were also right handed.
The UK will have a hand to play in the Supreme and Boothill and Dusart two are the most likely candidates so far, unless I've missed a key race along the way? Anyone have an eye on anything else this side of the Irish Sea?Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

.....PP are now 25-1 Boothill for Ballymore. The Ballymore/Supreme prices are now much more aligned.

I'm not entirely sure what's prompted me to write this today, but I have to say, at this moment in time it feels like a really disappointing crop of Novice Hurdlers. I appreciate that its early in the season, but I'm quite certain that by this time last year, we'd seen some really taking performances and some very good novices taking each other on. Willie in particular normally has a battalion of quality animals and we've just seen so so little from his geldings at this stage.
Don't get me wrong, I fully accept that the likes of Appreciate It, Ferny Hollow, Dusart etc. could all be very good, but at this moment in time, we just don't know. I'm just finding it very difficult to get excited by any of them.

The Irish are just streets ahead of the English.
Willie doesn’t send a lot of his out until around this time so that gives me some hope but I can safely say I haven’t been overwhelmed with much at all so far.
Still time yet though

Think we were in the same position last year sure even up to DRF we were asking who willies number 1 was for the supreme! The ferny ballyadam debate is the one I wish was sorted are they both running in the supreme or is one stepping up? I think both wouldn’t find stepping up a problem mite suit ballyadam if his jumping doesn’t improve
