Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • As Kev is suggesting, there’s just no point with any unconfirmed or unsubstantiated news.

Without websites and forums like these 10 years ago, and Twitter and many other notable channels, this kind of stuff would never make it to 99.9% recurring of the general public/punter.

The Easysland rumour (3 days spent being observed by a veterinarian post his last Cheltenham race and a nasty injury) proved nothing more than tosh.

The Ferny Hollow story may well be true, it may well be just pure rubbish.

Cash outs are nearly always suspended with news like this, and so far, they haven’t been.

      That makes me feel sad.

There has to be better things to be doing that that

Then again, I've spent it watching football

I would agree but I was multi tasking , including watching all the race replays I missed.....

Thought Kilcruit looked pretty good in the bumper but not sure what he beat and whether he will go over hurdles now.

        • Ballyadam would shorten surely if any semblance of truth, horses miss days work all the time.

          • For those who think FH is likely to run in the Supreme and who were considering backing Dusart, now might be the time to do that (with cash out), since his price could well be cut if this FH injury scare proves to be correct.

Yep, agree. Looks like total bullshit again and people hoping for a drift before backing. Very sad.

              • Well I sincerely hope all these rumours are total bullshit. Thanks for the update.

                • IF ferny is injured then Willie will need something for the supreme, dare I say.......fly smart?

If it is a pelvis fracture it wouldn't necessarily rule him out for more than 5/6 weeks if light. Ifs & buts obviously but the entries at Xmas will reveal if true or not if nothing is in the media over the next couple of weeks.

I don’t think that is accurate, in my experience cash out is rarely suspended based on social media rumours

                      • There won’t be a move out in the betting for any horse running at the Festival, unless it is likely to be injured for 3 months or more, and news of the injury is widely enough known.

Maybe if the injury could be for just a month or two months then the news won’t be broadcast, as a horse could make the Festival.

The key point being, if you knew now that a horse you backed for the Festival, could possibly be injured for the next six weeks to two months, and may only get back a month before Cheltenham (if at all) , what would you do, if there was no official news?

You could wait and see if the horse took up any early entries they have at Christmas, or not?

Trainers know that they will have to field questions at 5-day decs for Grade 1 races (with early entries) as to why their horse isn’t running.
I recall at the DRF Willie Mullins mentioned one day before the 5-day decs for the Irish Champion Hurdle that Saldier and Klassical Dream wouldn’t be running and were out for the season, and fessed up that they had injury problems (most probably had them for weeks, or months).

Anyone that chooses to only tell the public at the moment before the HRI or BHA need to be advised that the horses are not running, isn’t going to tell anyone now about any of them, and they will most likely leave it, for example, until the raft of Christmas 5-day entries come out.
Then the rush for bookies to act first, to remove Cashout will probably prevail ahead of many punters knowing the news.

So we should know in around two weeks+ which horses are running over the Leopardstown and Kempton Christmas fixtures, and the media will be all over the trainers for news of horses pulled out of the Grade 1 race entries, the week before racing.

                          • Long shot for Willie worth looking at is Shewears

On RPR ratings, she is the best horse at moment, Mares allowance for top horses showing in lots races now to be key ......and Willie has loads options for Mares Novice

Original plan was Royal Bond and setback was minor we believe

It could happen - depends how highly he things of his over novice mares.

he still has Micro Manage, Fly smart, n’golo, capodanno to name a few

he will probably have more at home that’ll be decent too.
