I wouldnt be too worried just yet. Min had his first start for mullins on the 10th of december before his run in the supreme. And with covid you would imagine they might be a little more behind than normal, but still plenty of time to get a couple of runs into him. A lot of mullins most high profile novices dont hold any entries yet, so i'd say its just more a case of them all needing a little more time to get fit than them all being injured.

We're certainly in a few week window where a lot of his best prospects are coming out though.

10th Dec isn't that far away? Was Min left out of the stable tour the year he won (I can't recall that far back).



Even when they make a debut in Dec, they'll usually have had entries before and been balloted out or just taken out at decs...

Personally think Flinteur Sacre will provide the wow factor tomorrow like Shishkin did. Hendo sounds really upbeat about him. Glad to have him on board as one of my big guns.

The confidence behind Flinteur Sacre seems to be more than relatives and connections for me. There’s enough fire power in the stable to know what they’ve got and I’m also expecting a big performance tomorrow.

They expected big things from The Bomber Liston, also a JP horse horse Hendo....and he didn't live up to expectations.


It isn't that loose? They expected big things from Jenkins.


I just disagree that it isn't the name that is the reason he's this short.



I think he'll win tomorrow, but I've already put up the roll of honour for tomorrows race and it has zero Supreme winners, only 1 Supreme runner in fact, in 11+ years....

Yet the race Dusart won had been won by Claimantakinforgan (4th in a Supreme), and Mister Fisher finished 2nd before disappointing in the Supreme that season, but is no bad horse himself.

I wonder how Flinteur and Dusart work at home, or if they work alongside each other, I'd imagine the novices do.

Nico called Dusart a proper horse, so if Flinteur is working better than or just as well as him then it should be a very exciting season for the Hendo novices. I really like Dusart, FWIW, but I have plenty of free bets on Flinteur, as I just found him too short to back with cash on reputation alone, although I had initially backed him with cash until I had the amount of free bets loaded up on him.

Flinteur Sacre.

The brother of Sprinter Sacre. Too green to do himself complete justice on his debut at Newbury, the €125.000 arqana purchase had to settle for second, as the winner Your Darling (who was three lengths clear at the line) ran out a comfortable winner.

The five-year-old seemingly turned out to be a totally different proposition at Kempton next time. At Kempton the brother of Sprinter Sacre took to the Sunbury turf to demolish his field by five lengths, he tanked through the race under Barry Geraghty before quickening smartly on the bridle to brush aside his rivals with the minimum of fuss.

However all is not what it seems.

In his opening race, his oppositions record under rules for races before and after, are 0-24. There was a real lack of quality in behind, which still didn’t stop him hitting the headlines for a run which achieved very little.

If you forgive him for his first run, he was lauded for his next, with calls for him to be supplemented for the Champion Bumper, with prices of a general 16/1.

But what did he achieve?
Firstly he opened up at a price of 4/11 which indicated that it was a straight for ward task. There were only 2 other horses in the race of which didn’t touch 50/1.
Force Ten who once again, didn’t finish out his race in the closing stages and was beaten easily last time out, and Le Bateau, who was previously unsold at the sales shortly before this race at ?95,000 and had been beaten in excess of 15L by Grand Roi, but with Duc de Bourbon just behind who was since 9th of 9, once again finishing tamely in a class 5 bumper.

Both starts he has achieved little of note in context to graded races. Therefore I see him massively under priced due to his name alone.

He isn’t Sprinter Sacre, just as Faugheen’s half brother Osmotic, isn’t Faugheen. So the expectation level is way too high, and what he has done to date, has been blown out of all proportion.

You can fully expect him to be a popular choice to win the opening race of the 2021 Cheltenham Festival (currently priced at between 16 and 20/1).
However Flinteur Sacre is certainly one that’s not for me.

Pretty loose to be guessing that he works better than or equal to Dusart? Even if he does, so what really? What if Dusart works all over him? We'd only ever find out after the fact and even then, racecourse evidence trumps home work every time.

Im certainly interested in him..why wouldnt you be? Like someone said, everyone got excited about the ballyadam hype..his bumpers wernt no more exceptional then flinters so i think it seems to be some hispster attitude about not being keen on him
