  • ...I’ve mentioned Fire Attack in the ‘Handicap Watch’ thread, perhaps worth leaving further discussion in there. It might be nothing, it might be something.

For the moment I'm happier looking for value in the graded races than considering whether the placed horses were pulled towards future plots

Fair enough mate. More the point did he beat much if the other two were not trying fully. So how much value was he for the win.

We make the result fit our own perspective

Oh for sure, I think many of us are guilty of this

I agree he didn’t look slow at Punchestown but he looked a good strong galloping type that I like for the AB.
No, I just argue for the horse going to the race that looks to suit it best. Obviously, we only have limited evidence but this one looks far too good for the Bartlett. I would hope it's not a done deal along the lines of Envoi Allen running in the Ballymore despite his best form being at two miles. He has been cut for the Bartlett because of that quote, not because of the Punchestown performance. I would have him 16-20/1 for the Ballymore and wouldn't even bother quoting for the Bartlett.

I did say on the ante-post thread that if Bartlett is desperate for a runner he can throw in Stattler. Crosshill looks in a different league to that plodder.

Last year I think I was in a minority of one (I usually am) arguing that Asterion Forlonge should have gone Ballymore. Now Mullins agrees. Trainers don't always get it right.

It wasn't the trip that was the problem was it, his "right field" antics were, irrespective if you think it was I don't think anyone could of had him beating Envoi.

He got well beaten in the Supreme because he was too slow. Had he have jumped straight which was always a doubt he wouldn't have gone close. The longer trip would have given him a better option and for me he would have been more of a threat than the second and third who are no better than Grade 2 horses.

Far too early to be labeling horses G2 in a sphere one hasn't emerged in & the other could be anything after a debut win.

                    • Really looking forward to seeing Farouk tomorrow. Opened at 13/8 backed into 10/11. Really hoping he goes down the same route as Fury Road did last season!

                      • Farouk does look an exciting prospect

also interested in Fakiera, could be that Elliott uses this to help set up a MP run

                        • Grand Bornand debuts at Cork tomorrow for WPM and Paul. Added to Supreme by skybet at just 16/1 - but is 25/1 for any race with same firm if anyone is interested. Other firms very reluctant to price this one up.

                          • Flinteur Sacre entered up at Newbury on Friday. Get ready for a single digit price after beating a load of muck.

Bet365 now go 33/1. Sky price a total joke.
