Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

Any bets taken should be returned by them.

I'm not spoiling my back garden with a patio. I quite fancy a bigger pond mind...

Thanks in advance to anyone that can oblige.
Not the easiest of races tomorrow as the Harry Fry horse could be decent enough. It’s also interesting (possibly concerning) that GDC is wearing first time headgear although hopefully that will help improve his iffy jumping.

              • Another one that has gone unnoticed in amongst the more high profile horses over the next three days is Stattler who will make his hurdling debut in Saturday over 2m3f at Naas.

Stattler - Willie Mullins - Albert Bartlett
Form in bumpers of 1-3-2 despite not being his arena. He’s an old fashioned stayer with a strong pedigree. He’s probably one that will be best over fences but he could be competitive over hurdles too. Form with Farouk D’alene mentioned above.

Yeah, I'm sweet on him, Jackie. He's a fairly big return already for me in multiple free bets used for any race, but I think I'd quite like to see him in the Martin Pipe or something along them lines. He could of course, be a Bartlett type horse, but I'd be less confident, I think.

I'm hoping he's good to tie in with the fire attack and farouk d'alene form

                    • Just rewatched the Cheltenham bumper again

Its notable that only Appreciate it in the first 9 home wasnt held up

Ferny hollow was super keen for the first half of the race, more so than I remember

Fascinated to see if he settles better this season

If he doesnt then he is going to be a seriously difficult ride

Rewatching the bumper at 3am in the morning is commitment

                        • If I were a Ferny Hollow supreme backer (which I'm not), barring the obvious (being able to jump), I'd be less 'concerned' with the result (barring losing to anything other than BO), and more interested in how he travels and settles over hurdles.

As a Ballymore backer how do you want him to travel and settle?

If he travels well and wins then they'll keep him at 2 miles. If he pulls hard and is a handful (quite likely), then they'll blame the place and probably keep him at 2 miles.

The only way I see him stepped up in trip is if he settles well and is beaten fair and square by BO.

Flat pedigree and 10/1 on debut in what might have been a weak race. Even if he did make a good start over obstacles I would be wary of how long he will last.

FH should get something to aim at as I fully expect BO to try to make all. If FH can't pick him up then who knows what their next play would be for him. He took 3 runs to get a win in the book last season, he could well be that type of horse that needs a run or two.

If BO loses trying to make all then an obvious step up in trip will likely be the next plan. As long as neither are beaten out of sight or one does the other on the bridle then I don't see many negatives coming from the race.

I was initially surprised they chose the 2m route to start BO down, but in fairness he hasn't lacked pace, a bit like Envoi Allen last season, so I'm sure they'll target almost the same sort of route. Whether he's anywhere near as good is obviously another thing.
