  • Does he know is a horse I like a lot. Agree he should target the Bartlett as the Ballymore will through up some too classy for him. Being a second season novice hurdler puts him at a slight advantage as (before the last 2 years) plenty of runs has been an advantage in the Bartlett.

If he takes this up I’ll be happy with my AB cashout and sticking my neck out for the ballymore, provided he runs and wins of course

He's said this post race lto.
"Does He Know is a very nice horse and I've always had a high opinion of him. He's a chaser and, with a bit of luck, he'll get better. I'll see how he comes out of this before making plans, but I'm not in any great rush - Kim Bailey, trainer."
        cheers.
I've read through his blog, and should imagine if they win this trial Friday the syndicate would be mad keen on a run in March.
The form of his wins may indeed turn out not too good.

The rating right now is not relevant to me personally as he couldn't have done more. The season is only just starting.
Thyme Hill's win in the same race probably only had him around the mid 140's at this point last year.

It's why the bartlett is much more feasible I reckon. Although I've thrown freebets at the ballymore, I'd be amazed myself if he proves good enough for the types that usually end up there.
Most runners in the bartlett are usually below 150 and the average rating in that is mid 140's.
He would just need to travel and stay, and he looks like he does that nicely.

Agree to disagree on the ratings but leave that for another day, Thyme Hill had strong bumper form and hurdle debut was pretty decent at Cheppy in fairness plenty seen him as a future 150 horse. This lad is a second season novice so had a slight edge heading into this season, I like him but just don't think he will go much further up the novice rank this year is all.
Still if you're building a book can't fault you for beating the price Q.

Gavin Lynch seemed to think he was Bartlett bound

I think a few will as he started off in the same race as Fury Road did, that’s why I backed the AB but had already backed the Ballymore.

I’m obviously just joking, Friday won’t determine his target unless Elliott says something. His Christmas will be the pointer if nothing comes out after Friday.

Sure Fury Road dropped in trip before going back up last season.

After Elliots comments I backed him for the Ballymore too so hot both covered, will be interesting to see how he gets on this week!

                  • Well I don't think Easy As That will be winning over hurdles anytime soon, not hurdling like that anyway.

Amazes me when Nicky said Champ went down to Venetias for some schooling, but I watch some of her horses and she can't even get them to jump. God help Champ

I thought Nicky sent his to Henrietta?

I started a thread early season about whether to back Venetia Williams novice hurdlers for graded races and the general consensus was a big fat No.

Me too!!!! Don't worry. They will start over 2m, he'll refuse to settle, hit a few, pull Paul's arms out and WPM will announce plans to go up in trip after.
