Hello Fat Jockeys,

    Pace picked up decently but they were at parading speed for the first 1/2-3/4 mile.

      Irrellevent re: the time they took about 10 seconds to kick off before crawling into the first two hurdles.

        Yep. They were barely going quick enough to get over the first hurdle so any comparison is pretty pointless.

          Can't read anything into times there I don't think, they stood still at flag down and barely moved first 2 furlongs so wouldn'y worry about it.
          Thought he showed serious gears when asked at the end

          • It's a quick double for
            @gelliott_racing
            , Jack Kennedy & Cheveley Park Stud as Ballyadam (4/6f) easily takes the second
            @Downroyal
            . Elliott said: "He'll step up into graded company now, he’s very quick - I'd say something like the Royal Bond
            @Fairyhouse
            . He’s pretty smart.”

            Would say from those comments supreme must be much more the likelier target now.

                Hopefully Willie has one there too with a nice win under it's belt and we get to see where the novices start to slot in.

                  Haha in my defence I did miss the first minute or so... but if that’s the case the time would be more in like with Envois.. anyway.. it’d be interesting to see the sectionals. I know you can’t draw comparisons but as we’ve said about trainers being creatures of habit.. I just have a feeling he’ll end up being stepped up

                  • He could beat Abacadabras already.

                    Maybe they already know that.

                      The creature of habit thing is a bit loose in this case. He had Envoi Allen go to the Royal Bond before stepping up (but we all knew EA was going up in trip), whereas we don't know that with Ballyadam....and just a quick scan of Gordon's Royal Bond runners, Abacadabras, Mengli Khan both went Supreme... so it actually outweights it?

                      Apart from the fact they are owned the same, there is no real reason to think Ballyadam will follow EA's hoofprints...

                      I think he's going to be a Supreme horse, if good enough!

                        And if he did become a top 2M novice then maybe he would stay over hurdles?

                        No point stepping up in trip unless you think the horse is slower across the ground, or through the air, than the 2M competition.

                          Even when Envoi was running in bumpers we all knew he was brought to be a gold cup horse and so the Ballymore was the right race for him. I haven’t heard of any murmurs of Ballyadam being a potential gold cup horse as yet and so may just turn out to be a champion 2 miler. On first impressions the Supreme looks like being Ballyadams race

                          • Also thinking Supreme for Ballyadam, He looked good today, i have him any race but went in again for the Supreme only at 16s last night. Ferny, we will have to wait and see. I am hoping Ballymore but who knows,Chev may let them take each other on.

                              I have been swayed more & more toward the supreme, but I wouldn’t read too much into that - Envoi Allen won the royal bond then went to the Ballymore. People were even calling for him to run in the champion hurdle.

                                It'll be Shewearsitwell as Willies main bullet would be my guess...
