Yep. Underwhelming debut over hurdles and can't imagine many were rushing to back Eskylane after that. Looks a right plodder.

When it comes to ante post betting for the festival you can easily have a mixture of both of them questions.

Quite simple for me, always back your own judgement, even if overlooked by others, but don't be so stubborn that you can't take on others' knowledge/information.

I like to do my own research (which is nothing new, a lot of members do this also), even if someone comes up with a belting bet on here. Visually we can see things differently from another, same goes for other areas of the game we love too. Sometimes I'll take a punt on a horse with cash out if I haven't got time to do the research and the case made is a good one. Sometimes I'll just back a horse for hype (this probably happens way more than it should, and something I feel I have cut down on since being on this forum).

Nice one CoD, good to be back and your book looking very nice already! I did have a quick look on here a few weeks after the festival and was amazed the majority seemed to think Supreme for FH. Obviously he could well have a great chance in either if he's that good, but the further he went the better last year.

Suppose Ballyadam is going to be a key part of the equation. At the minute Im hoping he proves to be top class and the pair need splitting up. Obviously he may not be up to that level and FH will then have his choice of either race which will make it very difficult for us punters.

Defo a lot hinges on Ballyadam as you suggest , pace FH showed to come from last to first in bumper tells me he not short of pace. Supremes are always fastly run and personally can see FH adopting same tactics again here . Cant see the prelims getting to him as itll be ran behind closed doors most likely.
Eskylane won like queen brook and festivals arent won in October , only Gordon knows how fit both were but Esky didnt strike me fast enough to win a supreme anyway as already suggested (ballymore more likely).

I like to see horses from cheltenham bumper winning even if not that impressive cos its franks form of sorts.

Watched Eskylane back. Adequate start. Agree that he needs to step up although first runs can always make fools of us. Think I can bin my Supreme bet but still have a handy TWAR ticket so still in with a shout.

We’ll start him off in a maiden hurdle at Down Royal at the end of the month and we’re looking forward to him. He’s a horse with plenty of pace, so we’ll start him off at two miles and play it by ear from there.

I'm hoping Valerres can pay a compliment to Boothill today at Wetherby he finished third in Boothills bumper where the winner looked very good imo.

Despite all the Eskylane chat, Valleres was easily the most impressive novice winner today. Big step up from his point win, the form of which through the second looks pretty rubbish.

On Queen's Brook, the race was very slowly run and turned into a sprint, which wouldn't suit a ptp mare that should stay very well, for all she fell in. Elliot said she wasn't fit, and i'd think seeing Wide Receiver + Eskylane that Elliot has left them with a lot of work left.

Not for one second saying they are winning festival novices, but not sure we should look into their runs too deeply yet in regards to the bumper form..
